reddit does April fools. One was in 2017 to provide a white canvas, and all reddit members are allowed to place a single pixel, with a certain cooldown time between two pixel actions. So the task is to create communities, and give them kind of an inner order, provide tasks, defend your piyel art and so on.
In 2022 reddit repeated this. As they did in 2023, and the whole thing is still running. Germans did German things. They created a community r/placede - with rules, an organigram, even a nightshift to protect the art while others sleep. It is just amazing what people can do. Oh, and there are diplomats as well, looking for alliances. r/placede has Belgium and Netherlands. And r/place is free of all the weird thinking like racism, just enjoying the game.
