Wrexham Exiles @ Glasgow Tigers An all-British clash — and not an Englishman in sight. Just they way these two teams like it. The Welsh head north to face the Scots, and if the game matches the atmosphere, buckle up. This one could get loud, scrappy and violent, and that might just be in the stands. At first glance this looked the easiest game to predict of them all - back the recently Elite powerhouse, Glasgow Tigers. Then the tape told a different story. Two games ago, Wrexham Exiles stunned Glasgow 42–20 — the Tigers’ only defeat of a 15–1 season. That result alone injects belief into the Welsh camp and adds real intrigue to this matchup. Overall, Glasgow lead the series 3–1, and the numbers still scream contender. Scorchio’s squad finished second seed in the AC with a dominant profile: The number 1 ranked defense in the league, great at stopping teams that run or pass. Add then a ground attack ranked 2nd in the league. Balanced. Physical. Ruthless. Wrexham? A volatile 12–4. Big wins. Head-scratching losses — including a 55–21 collapse to Yorkshire Sea-Owls. Its not going the way of the underdogs right now... Warriors stalling at Konjarnik - Hightowers lead 7-0 with Warriors seeing alot of the ball and showing signs of success on offence, but all drives have stalled just short of scoring territory so far SeaLions 31st ranked pass defence currently holding Corsairs to very little yardage, whilst the offence does its job. 14-0 start for Hamburg and the crowd is bouncing currently Awful 1st quarter for The Pack and they face a huge uphill battle as Q2 starts, 17-0 down ...and its the same for The Exiles, 17-0 behind after Q1 is a mountain to climb... |

Touchdown - FB Kimaiyo - 4 Yards and St Pauli are alive, driving 80 yards from their own 20 - 17-7 Touchdown - Even Chrill will be shocked at the scoreline out of Hamburg as The Sealions add another 7. 21-0 Touchdown - Exiles show signs of life in Scotland, a 1 yard pass after a long drive, Fedor Vladimirov to Wolf-Dieter Rupprecht 17-7 Here we go with news from Hamburg Touchdown - CORSAIRS - After a quarter of one way traffic The Corsair offence finally finds its groove, Kyle Cary finding Winfoird Whelen for 7 yards - 21-7 High Towers rolling ... Field Goal - WARRIORS get on the board with a FG, but High Towers reply with a Touchdown to lead 21-3 BIG STOP - After Distance Runners reply with a Field Goal, ST PAULI go 3 and out. Runners move the ball to the 45 but make the stop with 3mins of the half remaining. Would be huge if the Packers can find more points before the half time whistle Touchdown - TIGERS extend their lead and Wrexham have alot to do 24-7 Field Goal - EXILES reply but you feel they needed all 7 there 24-10 Field Goal - PACKERS reduce the arrears before HT, 20-10 HALF TIME Warriors 3-28 High Towers - Konjarnik look unstoppable. Corsairs 10-21 Lions - After a difficult start Corsairs are still in it Packers 10-20 - Proving grounds right here, who has the bottle Exiles 10-24 Tigers - Some Welsh grit needed to grind this out All the favorites lead... surely we will find some shocks... We are looking for some shock results, just one, but its the favorites that are dominating so far In Serbia The High Towers are through to the Conference Championship, they lead 42-10 into the 4th DISASTER for The Corsairs in Germany as Kyle Cary throws an INTERCEPTION immediately after Hamburg score. Hamburg convert it for another 7 points and just like that the Sea Lions lead 38-10 and that one is all but over A MISSED FIELD GOAL by Georgios Schneider from 42 yards keeps the game between Packers and Runners tight at 20-17 - The Pack are driving... And finally Wrexham and Glasgow trade touchdowns in Q3 but the Welsh side find themselves 31-17 behind with time ticking away FIELD GOAL - ST PAULI PACKERS level the scores at 20-20 failing to convert on 3rd and 18 by 1 yard they kick the field goal News in from Glasgow... TOUCHDOWN - GLASGOW TIGERS - Heart Breaker for all you Exiles fans out there, as the Tigers increase their lead 38-17 TOUCHDOWN - CORSAIRS - The Canadians on the ground for the score. Hamburg lead 38-17 BIG STOP With 6:32 left in the 4th on 3 and 11 with Runners in their territory on the 44yard line German Slaughter (what a name) tackle RB Vidura Chia for a 2 yard loss INTERCEPTED On the 15 yard line Vainius Kazlauskas picks off the St Pauli Packers and returns it 42 yards for great field position. FINAL SCORES
We spoke earlier in the day about if the gap between the top teams and the chasing teams was closing. On todays showing, for the most part... apparently not. DEVON WARRIORS 10-52 KONJARNIK HIGH TOWERS Konjarnik have spent their money and have the 2nd highest wage bill in RZA. It paid dividends today and looking at their scores in the regular season and today they look unstoppable. 601 yards of total offence - Ronald Lebron their 31 year old Quarterback threw for 428 yards and 4 Touchdowns, 13 of those passes to Ned Haggard at TE who had 111 yards and 1 TD. MICHIPICOTEN CORSAIRS 17-41 HAMBURG SEALIONS A fantastic win for the Sealions who move 1 game away from a return to Elite football. They toppled St Pauli for the NC North Title, now they will need to beat the formidable Social Distance Runners for the NC Confernence Title. On this showing i fancy them to do just that. A total of 506 offensive yards, they out threw the Canadian Air Force who managed a respectable 307 passing yards. Kyle Cary saw the most of the Corsairs snaps but tossed 2 Interceptions and just 1 TD for 250 yards. In comparison Hamburg ran the ball 51 times, handing off to 7 different runners whilst QB Stover had 32 completions for 312 yards and 3 Touchdowns. They'll be dancing in the streets of Hamburg tonight. ST PAULI PACKERS 20-30 SOCIAL DISTANCE RUNNERS Social Distance Runners Georgios Schneider kicked a 61 Yard Field Goal (not sure what the record is) with 6 seconds left to hammer the final nail into the coffin of St Pauli. They went so close to an amazing comeback win against one of the GOATS of Sea Devil Football. The Pack remember were 17-0 down after just 1 quarter of football in this one before grinding out 20 hard earned points to level the tie late in the 4th. With 6 minutes to go the defence came up with a massive stop and St Pauli drove the field from their own 20 with style. With 3 minutes to go and standing on the Social Distance Runners 15 yard line QB Paul David tossed the Interception heard around Germany. The rest is history and The Runners will progress to the Conference Championship. David is reported to be inconsolable at this time. WREXHAM EXILES 24-45 GLASGOW TIGERS Glasgow avenged their regular season defeat and never looked to be out of control here. 17-0 up after Q1 they controlled the game. The Exiles made a game of it but couldnt live with The Tigers Elite ready side. The stats show an even game, with both sides mustering a strong 449-460 yards in offence - The difference was the Tigers ability to turn yards into Touchdowns. |
