Interview with Torben, Manager of the St Pauli Packers

SDSC: Torben, thank you for the interview. The St Pauli Packers have dominated the NC North for the past three seasons. How do you see the new season with the Hamburg Sea Lions in the mix?

Torben: Thank you for the question. Of course, we are aware that the Hamburg Sea Lions are a strong opponent. They have an impressive history and a lot of experience in the Elite. We know that we need to focus on our strengths to continue being successful.

SDSC: The Sea Lions are being referred to as a "rebuild," but their rating and wage bill suggest that they are quite competitive. How do you assess their chances?

Torben: I think the Sea Lions are a serious opponent. They have a good mix of experience and young talent. We definitely need to adjust to them and adapt our strategy.

SDSC: The St Pauli Packers have consistently shown that they are a strong team over the past few years. What are your goals for the upcoming season?

Torben: Our goal is to make it to the Elite. We've shown in the past that we're capable of it, but it just hasn't worked out. This time, we want to make it happen.

SDSC: The Riga Smokers and the Hamburg Baltic Dogs are also in the NC North. How do you see their chances?

Torben: The Smokers are an interesting team. They have a new owner and seem to be slowly but surely building up. The Baltic Dogs are a team with a good history, but they operate with a very low budget. We'll see how they develop.

SDSC: The prediction for the season has the St Pauli Packers and the Hamburg Sea Lions both at 13-3. How do you see the chances for a head-to-head competition?

Torben: That's definitely possible. We know that we need to focus on the Sea Lions. If we win our games, we can win the division. But we definitely need to concentrate on the Sea Lions.

SDSC: Some fans might argue that the Hamburg Sea Lions should be favorites for the title in the NC North due to their six city championships. How do you see it?

Torben: I think that's an interesting point. Of course, the Sea Lions have an impressive history, but if you look at the past few years, it was often very, very close. We've shown in the past few years that we're a strong team, and I think we deserve to be favorites for the #1 seed in the NC and the Hamburg city championship.

SDSC: The Minnesota Silver Foxes have Chad Thurman, a Superstar. Are you afraid of him?

Torben: I think Chad Thurman is a great player, but I also think that Minnesota isn't a football hub. Stars often shine brighter there than they are.

SDSC: We could see heavy activities of you on the transfermarket. You signed a new QB with €600k weekly salary. Is this What we are thinking?

Torben: Yes, we are attacking Elite this season for the first time ever.

SDSC: Thank you.

It will take a little time, but your team will start playing very good once the Team Chemistry is at 100%.
Looking forward to it

My big objective this season is developing our franchise RB; Ernst Ottesen who is a complete BEAST!! Arguably the best physicals I've ever seen in a player with 50SPD 50AGI and 44.9STR!!

He has 3.5☆ of experience and his main skills at 29; despite that he has a 4☆ rating already! I'm even contemplating replacing my TE coach with a RB coach to buffer that side of the team. We lost our big time FB to retirement and now we have 10 players 30+; so we're gonna have to prepare for the inevitable.

My goal this season is to dip below $3m in wages again; 69 players on the roster and 20 in the YA.

I have some sleepers to be afraid of though: I have 2 18y OL players in my YA; Breivik and Jørgensen. These guys both have their STR and AGI peaked; so now they're training all skills for about 3 more seasons, I swear they'll probably cap at their talent level by the time they're promoted.

My weakest part of the squad is at DE. I have some great players there, but they lack experience and they're getting old. Finding a player with those kind of physicals is also really challenging, so i gotta take care of that in the coming seasons.

My QB-of-the-Future, Viggo has 50TW and 50INT, his only letdown was his AGI capping low and his low talent ceiling. You can expect him to be the starter by next season most likely.

I have two QBs right now, Tandberg and Lyngstad who are young, one is smarter; the other is bigger. Both good pocket QBs; might be on the market when Arnesen is ready to play.

I have questions/comments.
Why are they running off the field?
Why isn't the Hamster more terrifying?
