I have not spent as much time as I usually do following the Eagles during the offseason so I'm not quite up to date with everything this year but we did indeed look good yesterday and the other NFC East teams didn't look fantastic so being an optimist I'm hoping we can win the division and get Wentz at least a game of PO experience this year.

Outside of next week vs the Bears, it might be hard to get another win before the Eagles play the Cowboys on Sunday Night football 10/30. After that, you may see a win at the Falcons on 11/13 and Cowboys on 1/1. I'd be surprised if the Eagles win more 6 games this season. I believe they're only going to win 5. 5 would be better than the 2-3 that was touted around before yesterday... But I can see us taking 1 of the games against the Redskins, the Lions game is winnable, and Minnesota will be 'interesting' |

Yeah, I believe there is a good chance that the Eagles split all games vs the division at least. If they can improve on 3rd down, it will help both units over the course of the season.

Man, they looked good beating the steelers. That D, Wentz and even Smallwood. I thought it would be a forgettable season, but now im hoping for more.

I gotta admit that this Negadelphian is becoming cautiously optimistic about the season.

With a defense playing this well, the Eagles are legit to me and Jim Schwartz is going to get another head coaching position. Jalen Mills gives that secondary another dimension since he can play inside and outside and line up at safety. I think the Eagles found one of those coveted hybrid players in the 7th round when they drafted him.

Only 5 unbeaten teams left and we're one of them. I'm already pretty stoked but if you add points difference (I know, it's like the 7th tie-breaker in the NFL but head-to-head and divisional records make no sense after only 3 weeks) we're #1 in the league by almost 10pts per game!
Eagles +65 (avg+21.7) Pats +36 (avg +12) Broncos +27 (avg +9) Vikings +24 (avg +8) Ravens +13 (avg +4.3) May this last! |

Wentz has looked solid, and they're putting together good offensive game plans for him. Quick hitting plays where there's two primary reads ... but the really impressive thing to me is he's shuffling his feet inside the pocket and buying that extra second to make a 3rd/4th read like a 10 year vet. I wasn't buying into the hype, but after watching a decent chunk of the Eagles - Steelers game, I believe it now.
Patriots might be in trouble this week trotting out either one of two banged up, inexperienced QBs ... All depends which Bills team shows up, the one that terrorized the Cardinals and made Carson Palmer look like Vinny Testaverde, or the one from the first two weeks. Doesn't really look like a "QB driven" league at the top right now ... it's all about the defense. 4 of 5 undefeated teams currently rank in the top 5 defenses in the league, and the one outside the top 5 isn't far - the Broncos at 8th. And with only 3 games played, it's true the schedule is likely part of it - but the power rankings from ESPN look fairly similar, just a few of the positions shuffled: 2. Broncos (NFL rank 8) 3. Vikings (NFL rank 3) 4. Patriots (NFL rank 5) 5. Eagles (NFL rank 1) 8. Ravens (NFL rank 4) Last edited on 2016-09-28 02:02:02 by Gambler75 |

2nd game with that many penalties. That need fixing, though quite a few of them looked questionable, but im not exactly impartial. Big V had a tough game. hopefully he can improve fast.
