Check out TV Sports Football.
I played it on my Amiga 1990.

Well, some guys made a 2017 u p d a t e to Tecmo Superbowl and it's pretty funny. The rosters are almost good and the ratings of players is from the last Madden at the beginning of the season. I play it on my smartphone most of the time but I will try to add a NES emulator on my media center for big screen playing.

If you have a Windows computer you can also play online, I didn't test this feature but it is on my list.

This game age very well despite some glitches but the gameplay is pretty efficient and simple, it's a pleasure to play. A way for me to see the Packers in playoff this year.

Link to the file.

LOL ... tactics like Space Invaders?

Talking original 2600 Football?
Switch direction, move close to the the line and move faster.

Or the the LB warp one?
Miss a tackle/sack on the QB and pop up to intercept it 25 yards downfield.

I enjoyed playing blood bowl online several years ago. Used a client app to play it, had a league function where you could run your own comps and what not.

bloody skavens!

I always had trouble to learn all the possibilities of Blood Bowl. I played for a time at a french variation called Bulga Mor where you play only one player, games where a week long and you had to have deep coordination with your teammates.

But this is another topic. I am more looking for retrogaming here.

Atari 2600 Football
Check: Football for the Atari 2600 by Atari

The box shows Kenny Stabler and promises excitement. But ... well, you see.

Today's youth does not know what they missed!

HAHA, Templer, that made me laugh. It takes a lot of imagination to see the game of American Football in it. And I thought 4th and Inches was old school.

It was not very funny.
I wanted the game because of the promising cover (Stabler) so my parents spended money for it.
And at the end, the game wasn't playable...
