I know that Time/Clock Management is already on Pete's To Do but it is such a massive task that it's been on the To Do since 2013 so the suggestion is to take it step by step instead of doing it all at once.

Maybe we could start with a 2 minute warning where the clock would stop with 2:00 left to play in each half.
Then once this has been tested and works maybe adding timeouts would be a good second step?

I think it'd be nice to see an improvement in this area without having to wait for a hurry-up offense, taking a knee, fake punts, onside kicks etc...

It is not about adding it to the engine. It is about how to control timeouts and all that other stuff. I found no solutuion fo far, and therefore the first step makes no sense as long as you do not know about the second...

How about handling it as a normal playcall, so basically add another formation, 'timeout' and 'spike the ball' to your playbook

That was the first idea. However, it did not work out as planned.

One issue is that the games play out in real time. And there is another league starting games at the top of the hour, so Pete probably wants to finish the games within the hour and not go over. Would having all the games ending at the same time simulating a lot (2x or 3x) more plays in the last few minutes put too much stress on the server?

I definitely understand the frustration, while your watching your team down by 3 points taking 45 seconds a play on the wrong half of the field and never even getting across the 50.

Would it be possible to work clock management into the QB's intelligence rating?

A smarter QB would have better clock management skills, imo.
