Really cool idea might have to think of a negative for this postive to happen though, like increase the OOP, drop a roster spot (down to 69) or hybrid has higher wages?

Higher wages is a logical one. If he can do more on the field, he should be paid more. It could also include a bonus for the player paid up front, similar to the bonus you pay to keep a retiring player for an extra year.

Maybe it gives a hit to Team Chemistry and Morale, to reflect that it takes time for them to feel comfortable in their new position. Similar to the penalties when changing position as they are now.

Where's the DT/FB?

I don't have a DT/FB, but I have a DE/RB. He's my fumble returner. He's maxed in all defensive skills, so I trained carrying lol.

Sounds good to me

That'd make sense

I am fine with this suggestion as long as is a limit on how many players.

And does not allow players to play both o and D.

I know for me. I would use it for my FB/RB

ON D most likely CB/SF So he could back up both positions

Or ...

Why not have it as a trait (player is capable of being a hybrid).

Instead of wage hit, maybe have the cons element is that he gets the lower rated coach of the two positions.

Would eliminate any possible exploit.

The one area I could see this being an advantage needing balancing is with established more expensive teams being able to employ less as a player could offer depth at two positions say DE/OLB and thus save money by employing less players overall.

That may affect balance in that teams no longer need to dump so many vets as they can afford to keep them around more on their smaller roster

Maybe forces the price of these vets up as their value increases

These things can be balanced by restrictions on numbers allows etc, it's really just to throw this out there as I hadn't seen it mentioned yet
