Source: http://redzoneaction.org/football/images/avatars/374e47361a60480ae8acc095fa98e4c5.jpg Welcome to Season 25's Pre-Season Show. This is where we take a look at the individual divisions and the possible prospects of each team. Most of the thoughts and background work for this Pre-Season Show has been done by passionatelad and we thank him for his time and effort. So lets get started as usual with AC East LM Pirates are managed by Fijer 1.1 Record - 5 seasons 45-35 Divisional Titles - AC East 1 (Season 23) ELO Score 803 Beckos Score 318 San Francisco Miners are managed by JoeDangit 1.1 Record - Rookie Season ELO Score 648 Beckos Score 246 true winners home are managed by retry 1.1 Record - 7 seasons 48-64 ELO Score 694 Beckos Score 293 Wild Thangs are managed by stizz 1.1 Record - 20 seasons 207-113 Divisional Titles - NC East 3 (Seasons 8, 11, 14) AC East 2 (Seasons 16,17,24) Thunder Bowls - 1 - 1 loss Elite League Record - 1 season 4-12 ELO Score 900 Beckos Score 336 Wild Thangs will continue to be a growing threat this season since the rebuild just a few seasons ago and I fully expect them to take the division. LM Pirates will have a say in that as they continue to grow as a franchise and will be fighting it out for that all important wild card spot in the post season. true winners home will need to push on this season and improve as a team if they expect a playoff spot. This will be their 9th season on Red Zone action San Francisco Miners are one of the 1.1 newcomers and because of the lack of progressive teams in lower divisions, I unfortunately see them as relegation candidates. 1 Wild Thangs 2 LM Pirates 3 true winners home 4 San Francisco Miners Bova's note... stizz had to do a lot of work with his rebuild and it paid off last season, though I am sure that Fijer will try his best to claw back some of that lost ground and retry will also be hoping to catch up a bit as well. Message to Joe - get settled in and enjoy this season, do not be afraid to ask for help and advice. Now we go onto
AC North Budapest Wolves are managed by janos 1.1 Record - 20 seasons 233-89 Divisional Titles - AC South 3 (Seasons 13,15,16) NC East 2 (Season 18,20) AC North 2 (Seasons 22,23) Thunder Bowls - 3 - 1 win 2 losses Elite League Record - 3 seasons 8-40 ELO Score 872 Beckos Score 314 The SQUALES of Beach are managed by SSNIPER 1.1 Record - 6 seasons 39-57 ELO Score 679 Beckos Score 279 UNTOUCHABLES are managed by nicky1974 1.1 Record - 3 seasons 18-30 ELO Score 699 Beckos Score 300 Wolflings are managed by Wolfling 1.1 Record - 3 seasons 26-22 Divisional Titles - AC North 1 (Season 24) ELO Score 744 Beckos Score 331 Budapest Wolves will have no competition for this division being the far more experienced side and will be expected to easily take the AC North and I expect should be a Bowl finalist contender. Wolflings I believe may have just enough about them to take second place in this division with the defence being key. It will be very interesting to see how they progress going into the season. The SQUALES of Beach and UNTOUCHABLES are to very similar sides in this division and it will be interesting to see how both sides have improved this season, both have an outside chance at a play-off spot but how they improve this season will be key to that target. 1. Budapest Wolves 2. Wolflings 3. The SQUALES of Beach 4. UNTOUCHABLES Bova's note.. I think Budapest Wolves would like to regain this divisional title, but I think Wolflings proved last season that they are a team to contend with and they will not relinquish the divisional title, they won last season, easily. I will see first hand what they are like in Week 1 and the Super Cup. Look we have reached
AC South Flow Gaming are managed by microlol 1.1 Record - 12 seasons 107-85 Divisional Titles - AC North 5 (Seasons 15-20) ELO Score 762 Beckos Score 284 Jac Team are managed by jac467 1.1 Record - 2 season 6-26 ELO Score 604 Beckos Score 266 Preston Plumbers are managed by oakbark 1.1 Record - 5 seasons 35-45 Divisional Titles - AC South 3 (Seasons 21,23,24) ELO Score 720 Beckos Score 312 Xu Da are managed by Hongwu 1.1 Record - 11 seasons 92-84 Divisional Titles - AC South 5 (Seasons 17-20, 22) ELO Score 722 Beckos Score 296 Preston Plumbers have won 3 out of the last 4 division titles and will be the team to beat. The fact the running game is more efficient should help the cause. Xu Da will need to develop the running game if they are to challenge for the division. Playoffs isn't impossible but the chances are slim. Flow Gaming are in a division with tough opposition and will have to be on their game to outsmart the division opposition. They will need to develop the offensive game. Jac Team will once again need to make sure they can maintain their place in 1.1 which is more than achievable. Any relegation playoff should be a formality. 1 Preston Plumbers 2 Xu Da 3 Flow Gaming 4 Jac Team Bova's note... This division to me appears to be a three way fight, Plumbers, Xu Da and Gaming can beat each other, but all three have to find consistency when playing teams not in their division, whoever does that wins the division. Jac should improve, if he learnt anything last season, and his target should be just to close the gap on the other three. Not to be left out here is
AC West Severnside Cardinals are managed by passionatelad 1.1 Record - 15 seasons 133-107 Divisional Titles - AC West 4 (Seasons 15, 17, 18, 20) ELO Score 812 Beckos Score 297 Shropshire Swifts are managed by Pip76 1.1 Record - 2 seasons 7-25 ELO Score 578 Beckos Score 248 Sky Blue Engineers are managed by Hulger 1.1 Record - Rookie Season ELO Score 544 Beckos Score 168 Vienna Falcons are managed by wiesengrund 1.1 Record - 15 seasons 194-46 Divisional Titles - AC West 8 (Seasons 6-13) NC East 1 (Season 16) AC East 2 (Season 18, 20) NC South 1 (Season 22) Thunder Bowls - 4 - 3 wins 1 loss Elite League Record - 6 seasons 58-38 Super Cup Bowls - 2 - 1 win 1 loss Champ of Champ Bowls - 1 - 1 loss ELO Score 1131 Beckos Score 361 Severnside Cardinals will see there easiest 1.1 challenge yet with Vienna Falcons going BOT. His opposition are nowhere near ready to challenge. Severnside Cardinals this maybe an opportunity to get in the Conference playoff game, but it won’t be easy to achieve. Shropshire Swifts are a young side finding there feet. Second in the division should be a cruise for them. Sustaining a place in 1.1 will be a priority and any relegation playoff a formality. Sky Blue Engineers came up way to soon. I can only see relegation, but if they make enough player moves staying up maybe doable. Vienna Falcons going BOT means only one thing. Relegation. 1 Severnside Cardinals 2 Shropshire Swifts 3 Sky Blue Engineers 4 Vienna Falcons Bova's note... this is the division I should have returned to, but Pete decided otherwise. If passionatelad does not win the division it will be the biggest upset since Leicester City won the Premiership (hehe). Message to Hulger - Get the stadium done and have a mess about with your playbook. Team building can be done later on, so do not be disheartened if you get whack a lot this season. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Looking at the AC Conference as a whole Wild Thangs are the number one team here and it is up to the others to stop him. Even then Pete putting my team in the NC has made this league a bit uneven, which will require a couple or more seasons to balance itself back. Okay we now go onto the NC Conference starting with
NC East Bathing Apes are manged by 90210 1.1 Record - 1 season 7-9 ELO Score: 681 Beckos Score: 309 Die Verdammten are managed by Lawinenhund 1.1 Record - 14 seasons 159-65 Divisional Titles - AC East 1 (Season 19) NC East 3 (Seasons 21-23) Thunder Bowls - 2 - 1 win 1 loss Elite League Record - 2 season 6-26 ELO Score 862 Beckos Score 287 Real Templars of Steel are managed by MinVik 1.1 Record - Rookie Season ELO Score 574 Beckos Score 211 Thunder Bolts managed by wsfjlt 1.1 Record - 1 season 9-7 ELO Score: 671 Beckos Score: 294 Die Verdammten are the most experienced side in this division, who looks to have gone through a rebuild of their own. Die Verdammten should have enough to take the division. Bathing Apes and Thunder Bolts are both entering the 4th season in their history and have progressed well to get where they are. Both are fairly evenly matched and either could take that second place spot in the division at the end of the season. How much either team has progressed could be the key here. As it stands I see Bathing Apes taking second place Real Templars of Steel enter their 2nd full season. Another side who’s aim will be to keep a place in 1.1 and shouldn’t be too much of a problem. 1 Die Verdammten 2 Bathing Apes 3 Thunder Bolts 4 Real Templars of Steel Bova's note... As long as Lawinenhund has got his time settled then I agree with passionatelad that he will have no trouble with winning the division, but I feel the Bolts have the edge over the Apes and that they are the ones Lawinenhund will have to keep a careful eye on. Message to MinVik - keep up the careful approach you have done so far. It will pay dividends in the long run. Back again with the
NC North Amersfoort Alligators are managed by Cheesehead 1.1 Record - 6 seasons 60-36 Divisional Tiltles - NC North 4 (Season 21-24) ELO Score 838 Beckos Score 330 Bison City Nightcrew are managed by Wolf13 1.1 Record - 4 season 35-29 ELO Score 751 Beckos Score 308 Krugodam Stompers are managed by krugodam 1.1 Record - 1 season 3-13 ELO Score: 567 Becko Score: 287 Spitting Llamas are managed by Herrpetllamas 1.1 Record - Rookie Season ELO Score 593 Beckos Score 252 It's Amersfoort Alligators division to lose. This franchise should be in the playoffs end of the season with only a fall from grace costing them. Bison City Nightcrew has been here 3 seasons longer than Krugodam and Spitting Llamas, so they will need to make sure they develop this season. I do, however, see their experience being the advantage to taking 2nd in the division. Krugodam Stompers second season in 1.1 and will want to move on from there 3-13 last season. Saying that both Krugodam and Spitting Llamas have developed well in their 2 season history and all eyes will be on them both this season, to see how much they have developed once again. Spitting Llamas spend their first season in 1.1 this season and it will be very interesting to see what they can achieve. They have a little more advanced offence than Krudogam, which might me the difference in taking that 3rd spot but its way to close to call between the two. 1 Amersfoort Alligators 2 Bison City Nightcrew 3 Spitting Llamas 4 Krugodam Stompers Bova's note... It is up to Cheesehead not to get complacent as he has enough to worry about if he makes the play offs again. Wolf13 has to be more consistent then he will give Cheesehead more to worry about. As for Llamas and Stompers, yes in will be interesting to see how they do this season, but the likelihood is for both of them to face relegation play offs at the end of this season. Now the division of death
NC South Inbhir Narann are managed by Bovakian 1.1 Record - 6 seasons 78-18 Divisional Titles - AC West 3 (seasons 19, 21, 22) Thunder Bowls - 1 - 1 loss Elite League Record - 1 season 4-12 ELO Score 941 Beckos Score 368 M. Divers are managed by thomastem 1.1 Record - 4 seasons 57-7 Divisional Titles - AC North 1 (Season 21) NC South 2 (Seasons 23, 24) Thunder Bowls - 1 - 1 win Elite League Record - 1 season 0-16 Champ of Champ Bowls - 1 - 1 loss ELO Score 960 Beckos Score 355 Osler Rebels are managed by Griswold 1.1 Record - 1 season 9-7 ELO Score 745 Beckos Score 296 Totoras Patriots are managed by JonatanRiver 1.1 Record - 19 seasons 157-147 Divisional Titles - NC South 3 (seasons 18-20) ELO Score 805 Beckos Score 306 Inbhir Narann come back down from the Elite league in what will be the division he least wanted to be in to form the division of death. The difference maker this season maybe his head to head record with M. Divers. I can certainly see these two facing off in the Conference championship at the end of the season. M. Divers will want to make the most of this season with 14 retirees at the league campaign so promotion will be the last thing on his mind. I expect a close fought contest this season for top spot which is too close to call. Osler Rebels and Totoras Patriots are both way to close to call and in a division like this anything can happen. Both teams have tough schedules and the team that can get the results in the tougher games will be the key to taking 3rd spot in the division. 1 Inbhir Narann 2 M. Divers 3 Osler Rebels 4 Totoras Patriots Bova's note... I am wary of thomo's "fake news" he is very good with the mind games, though I will loose 9 to retirement at the end of this season, so if what thomo says is true neither of us will be looking to go back to the Elite next season with teams devastated by retirements. Both Griswold and Jonatan have good teams so any slip by thomo and myself will let either of them in with a better chance of progressing to the play offs. Last, but not least
NC West Flerschem Flieger are managed by eiskomitee 1.1 Record - 4 seasons 35-29 Thunder Bowls - 1 - 1 loss Elite League Record - 1 season 1-15 ELO Score 826 Beckos Score 352 Istanbul Sultans are managed by aydin.guclu 1.1 Record - Rookie Season ELO Score 599 Beckos Score 249 PGI Andorre Solutions are managed by fonset 1.1 Record - 3 seasons 8-40 ELO Score 657 Beckos Score 278 The Green Machine are managed by jggreen 1.1 Record - 2 season 21-11 Divisional Titles - NC West 1 (Season 24) ELO Score 756 Beckos Score 365 The Green Machine I expect will take the division for the second season running, but with Flerschem Flieger to contend with they will have to fight all the way for it. Both teams will also feel they may have a claim on the Conference Championship playoff and will want to take a place in the game Flerschem Flieger narrowly missed out in a defeat in the Conference playoffs last season meaning they will have to playout another season in 1.1. Getting back up will be no easy challenge with Inbhir Narann now in the mix in what has become a tough conference to be in. I expect them to be taking one of the Wild Card spots at the end of the season. PGI Andorre Solutions are back in 1.1 and I expect survival. But they should not be complacent in this decision as it’s not a given and will need to work hard to ensure it. Istanbul Sultans key to survival this season will be how much they develop. Either way I can see them going back down in what will be a long season for them. 1 The Green Machine 2 Flerschem Flieger 3 PGI Andorre Solutions 4 Istanbul Sultans Bova's note... jg's Green Machine are the team to watch out for this season. There is much to commend on the way they go about their business. estee knows he must be more consistent to be there challenging. fonset most know by now what it takes to stay up here and not get silly with his wages. Message to aydin - keep up the good work. Finish that stadium and get on developing so you can make a decent challenge in this division. As I said in the AC Conference comment, the NC Conference is far stronger with 4 ex-Elite League teams plus two very strongly developed teams in Alligators and Green Machine. Though many will favour Divers or Narann I will say it is not a foregone conclusion that these two will be fighting for the NC Championship, though the odds stack favourably that the Bowl winner will come from this Conference. Well thats all for now, thanks for joining me with the Pre-Season Show and let the fun begin this Saturday. I wish good luck to you all for Season 25 in Thunder 1.1, the Super Cup and those going for CoC Cup.
