I just won an upset game in SC playoffs by defeating Buziano's team.
As he was supposed to win due to a better ELO rating, the morale hit was 15% for him. But today he has to face an opponent in league playoffs and the morale hit can be a big handicap for him. I understand that is a part of the game and a team defeated take a morale hit when it lose, it's logic. BUT when this team is still in one the PO race we can assume than players will focus on the next game instead of being depressed and lose a game because of that. And there is a logic here too. Not all team can be competitive both in SC and league so it appears logic for me than a team in playoff should have a moral bonus who decrease the moral hit if a defeat is faced in playoffs. I think it will be more fair too. You shouldn't see your all league season crushing down just because a lucky bastard like me managed to beat you in SC playoffs as you are more focused on your league playoffs. |

I think this is an example of issues people have with the ELO, his teams overall rating was 69.7 against your 74.7, based on this your team would be heavy favourites but due to his history (potentially when his team was stronger) his ELO is higher and has resulted in the morale loss.

Some players will focus on the next game, other will have (hidden) doubts due losing a game before...For me this is as it should be. I will add "reducing Morale Hit out of ELO" to the list of refused suggestions now. |
