Morgantown Mad Dogs ELO 784, Rating 65.2 @ Real Templars of Steel ELO 579, Rating: 59.6
The Mad Dogs DL are doing all the work on Defence outplaying the LB’s with plenty of TFL’s and FF’s , but their Offence couldn’t get it done last week - just three points in total. Ombi has a difficult choice between his two QB’s: against the Accies QB A. Cason Rated at a lowly 65.56, but K. Najjar rated even worse at 20.42. However over the Templars Season so far Najjar has been the much safer bet. Hmm.
By contrast it’s difficult to see a positive for the Templars after last Sunday - but we do love the fact that their Kicker was joint highest Tackler! Maybe some thinking outside of the box?........ maybe shorten the cheerleaders skirts to distract the Mad Dogs players?

Hebridean Academicals ELO 747, Rating 68.9 @ КАФ Инђија Индианс ELO 778, Rating 66.9
Well КАФ certainly came out to play against the Templars last week - 63% Possession, 663yds offense and 6 of 11 on third down conversions,. Their strike QB is rating at over 100, and the RB’s/FB’s are averaging at least 5yds per carry. Defensively КАФ’s top 3 CB’s have a 75% TD return rate on Interceptions : Nzubuovic should feel relatively confident going into the next game.
The Accies got lucky on Sunday with the Mad Dogs offensive ineptness last week, but in Wednesdays friendly blew a 19-7 lead half way through the 3rd Quarter to lose 19 - 34: classic Accies! I could spurt forth some Stats, but really what’s the point - they’re a lot like a soufflé ….. either a precariously fluffy success or (more often than not), a very embarrassing let-down. The Accies do have the right ingredients to win this one, but can the chef get it right?

Derbyshire Electric ELO 961, Rating 68.5 @ Wittgenstein Rebels ELO 985, Rating 76.3
The Electric went for a balanced Offensive last week, but like the Templars in Group 1 an off-the-wall approach might be the best way to go…. Turn off the heating the rebels dressing room/laxative in the gatorade/itching powder on the benches/create the killer gameplan…..
The Rebels have the players to win this match fairly comfortably: good depth all round, on Offence Bookend OT’s, a good QB and a stella WR. And on Defence they have a fearsome DL who I imagine will be all over the Electrics’ OL. But they got shot up pretty badly by the Cowboys last week, so they’ve got to plan well to avoid another ambush.

Kumberg Cowboys ELO 1094, Rating 70.2 @ Chester Ducks ELO 1055, Rating 83.5
Mike indicated in the Forum that this would be an interesting game and indeed it will be - The Cowboys are definitely more Clint Eastwood than the Milky Bar kid. I look through their Roster and their Stats again, and the question just keeps repeating - how DO they DO that?!!
As predicted it was the Ducks OL that did all the damage last week - a whopping 92 (yep, ninety-two) Pancakes gave QB Maggoro plenty of time to rack up an 83% Completion rate and a 121.41 Rating. And the Ducks DL harassed the Rebels QB to just 18/43 completions and 3 Interceptions. Impressive/frightening - pick your adjective. It’s a head versus heart, logic versus intuition match-up.

Morgantown Mad Dogs 48 _ 6 Real Templars of Steel
Templars hold their own in the Second Half, but Mad Dogs already broken the leash and long gone by then

Hebridean Academicals 35 _ 34 КАФ Инђија Индианс
Accies squeak a win, owe it all to their CB’s - 3 Ints, 2 returned for scores. To make things worse for КАФ, the third Int was on the Accies 2yd line.

Derbyshire Electric 10 _ 13 Wittgenstein Rebels
Electric fumble on Rebels 24yd line with 1:33 left in the game. 37yd return and three plays later Rebels kick the winning FG……. That’s all there was between them.

Kumberg Cowboys 19 _ 23 Chester Ducks
Cowboys push the Ducks ALL the way, in fact the game could have gone either way.

Will the Academicals have done their homework? It could be an end of term party - if not it will be a nightmare last day.
As well as hoping that QB Waters and WR Markovics properly click on Offence this week, MinVik would normally be expecting that superstar DL Hargrove can penetrate into the backfield to snack on the Hebridean haggis. But over the season so far he has failed to get a Sack and only has 7 TFL’s, and it’s the Templars third rated DL Carreras that is leading the line with 5 sacks and 33 TFl’s.

Morgantown Mad Dogs ELO 779, Rating 65.5 @ КАФ Инђија Индианс ELO 778, Rating 66.9
The Mad Dogs went with a balanced Offence in their Week 1 defeat at the Accies, then Rush heavy in last weeks win over the Templars - what will they do this time in their knockout game against КАФ? The Dogs QB’s are still not quite firing on all cylinders this season but had a good game last week, running wise they do well when RB Mark has the ball but struggle otherwise. Defensively, nobody really stands out - and that could be their problem….....
It was КАФ’s Offensive mistakes that cost them the game last week and that will surely be the focus this week - trying to find a mistake free gameplan. Defensively they have a very impressive DL who have racked up a lot of TFL’s and put big pressure on opposing QB’s - which has led to helped their CB’s make a number of picks.

Kumberg Cowboys ELO 1099, Rating 70.7 @ Wittgenstein Rebels ELO 995, Rating 77.1
The Rebels have an outstanding OL. Their top FB and RB are both averaging 5.5+ yds per carry, and have only allowed 4 sacks over the season. Defensively they have racked up 23 sacks as they top their League division and look like a good bet for this knockout game.
But the Cowboys have only allowed 3 Sacks and racked up 29 of their own so far this campaign, and Thommy is clearly a gameplanner who deserves respect. Part of me wishes I could think of something more to say - but here is a classic example of ‘less is more’.

Derbyshire Electric ELO 961, Rating 68.4 @ Chester Ducks ELO 1063, Rating 83.7
It was a very late fumble that cost the Ducks against the Rebels, and that is a recurring problem through their season - whilst QB Maiyo is showing a very impressive 45td / 3Ints, the RB’s have fumbled the ball 9 times without recovering any. Defensively, it’s their LB’s who stand out: Dlouhy has 11 sacks all on his own, and Pagan 3 def TD’s.
Well the Ducks are the Team to beat, and it’s still their OL which is just plain frightening - obviously the reinforced concrete base for their offence. On Defence their stats don’t look fantastic, but I’m not fooled - this is clearly because of the company they keep in a very competitive Admirals division.

Well, I beat Kao 2 seasons ago in the Supercup 40-20, so I have some experience facing him. It should be a more defensive game this time around, but I think I can edge him out to get to the playoffs. However, even if I win, I will quickly exit the playoffs.

Hebridean Academicals 61 _ 0 Real Templars of Steel
Academicals finally click as Templars get stuffed on the ground, averaging only 1.8yds on 52 carries.

Morgantown Mad Dogs 36 _ 24 КАФ Инђија Индианс
КАФ QB Dordevic throws Ints on first two Drives and they never recover. Mad Dogs Defence impress with 4 Ints Total, and CB McGuiness two pick sixes.

Kumberg Cowboys 17 _ 21 Wittgenstein Rebels
Though they don’t do much wrong, the Cowboys get roughed up by the Rebels. Rebels don’t have best of the Stats….. but get the job done

Derbyshire Electric 17 _ 30 Chester Ducks
Electric outgain the Ducks in yardage with 30/38 completions, but the Ducks do what they do and do it well

Wittgenstein Rebels ELO 1005, Rating 76.9 @ Hebridean Academicals ELO 755, Rating 68.3
The Rebels are here following a great win last week over the Cowboys. Their OL are way better than the Accies DL, their combination of TE’s and WR’s will be a handful for the opposing secondary, and on Defence their fearsome DL should be all over the Accies.
The Accies? Well they will be hoping for a hot and humid day with no breeze. Why? Perfect conditions for Midges - the only hope they really have. But it’s a good hope - if you haven’t had the mis-pleasure - you have no idea!

Chester Ducks ELO: 1070, Rating 83.9 @ Morgantown Mad Dogs ELO 785, Rating 65.6
Ah well It’s all for the Ducks taking this week. If it wasn’t for their poorly rated ST Unit (80.8 !!) the Ducks would be rated at scare-inducing 84.3 rather than the plain worrying 83.9. There’s no point in singling out any odd player or two, unless it was the odd starter who can’t win a game single handed.
The Mad Dogs have mentioned they don’t fancy their playoff chances much, and sadly it does look very difficult for them. They need a killer game-plan, all their players to perform, and a good amount of luck. But their most experienced WR Odili is on IR. So the Mad Dogs need some serious Meatloaf...... ?? ...........“Two out of three ain’t bad”

No need to sugar coat things on my account, your prediction is an insult to the Chester Ducks team.

In last year's league match, my goal was to prevent him from getting to the 60 point differential. I held him to 55, so I was successful.

This time around, I'm hoping to only lose by 35 points.

Wittgenstein Rebels 27 _ 21 Hebridean Academicals
Rebels held to a six point difference by the Academicals, surprising for both Teams. Match day report for Rebels is bad reminder of school days - “must improve to succeed’

Chester Ducks 61 _ 14 Morgantown Mad Dogs
Mad Dogs don’t make many mistakes but still get run all over for breakfast, lunch and dinner as Ducks RB’s have a blue chip game.

For the Rebels QB Schmidt and WR Peters really need to click this week - FG’s alone won’t be enough to take the Cup. So time for the OL to step up to the plate stand fast. On Defence the Rebels DL needs to find some sort of penetration and the CB’s need to do better than they have recently.
If the Ducks OL can do their usual destruction job then the game will likely only go one way. On Defense the Ducks haven’t been worried so far in this tournament and scarily that is without their top LB Saleh really hitting his stride. But with two stella DB’s and 4 (yes four) 4.5* DL’s to keep the Rebels OL more than occupied.
Very difficult to see past the Ducks. Ducks by 8

The Rebels win!!
Ducks offense stuffed for 3 consecutive ‘three and outs’ on their first 3 possessions….. and 8 (yes eight) ‘three and outs’ over the whole game….. Rebels Punter helps Offence big time by Punting into Ducks 5yd zone three times…. AND of Rebels five scores, THREE were by K Schultheiß to prove that FG’s CAN win games!!

Many Congratulations Loretta
