Hellllooooooo all and welcome back to a new season of the hit show Game of the Week as always hosted by your trusted and beloved Cheesehead
Season 27 is upon us already and the football gods are up for it as they've given us a fixture in week 1 that is mouth watering. The Green Machine (yes, they are STILL in Thunder 1.1) against the Basterds. A clash of titans that could be a very early rehearsal for a play off game later this season. It's also the AFC vs NFC. It's bragging rights. It's a perfect start vs starting with a loss. So much intrigue and even though both teams will make the play offs regardless of the outcome of this game, it is still a week 1 game where both managers would be unhappy to start with a loss. Of course our beat writers are out there already looking for a scoop and we will give the highlights of the interviews as soon as they are available. |

Our beat writer ran into jetto who, as always, was very courteous and talked to our interviewer at length:
Question 1. Is the goal this year promotion or just to make the play offs? Promotion is no goal this year as I get rid of a few vets and I need some younger to step up and get some EXP. Question 2. You were beaten quite handsomely last season by TGM. How confident are you of a different outcome this time? TGM prooved that he's a very good game planer. As I'm not I think he is the favourite. Question 3. What do you think will be the deciding factor in this game? Can my young OL create enough running lanes for my RB's? If yes I could gain an advantage and control the game somehow. If not that's gonna be pretty clear thing for TGM Question 4. Give me the state of your team and what you project it to over the coming 5 seasons. Well, at the moment I have some very young guys at QB and OL starting. I think they will need at least 1-2 seasons to be ready. Hopefully I can keep my Deffensive Stars till that point to make a run for the Bowl again. Question 5. What was your best buy on the Transfer Market ever? Needed to check my TM History 
Tuan Adams and Yuki Toyoda come to my mind. Both bought for YA, developed and trainend and now starters. Honorable mention: Sung Allen - long time P bought 9 seasons ago. Despite that lot's of shit I bought as I know now.. Question 6. What NFL team do you support in real life and why? an Francisco 49ers, of course! Started to follow the NFL only a few years ago without any favourite team. After some time I started to have a closer look at the franchises and as I like SFO and California the 49ers came to mind and then I checked the great history of the franchise and then it was easy to call them my favourite team. When I started to follow them closely under Harbough it was easy (you know, they were quite sucessfull only a few saisons ago ) but also during the Tomsula and Kelly years I didn't quit... About the same time I spend for RZA I'm spending for a german speaking fan-forum where we meet each other regularly and discuss everything very detailed (sometimes too detailed ) Honorable mentions: Jaguars, Chiefs and as I get more and more fixed to College Football: Stanford (they have an austrian DL!), Notre Dame (Montana, and a good friend of mine who was there for 20 Months and free stream available for europeans - that's how you get in contact with teams ) |

It was long after that we encountered jggreen who was unflappable as ever but also a gentleman as always. This is what he said:
Question 1. It is often said that a team has a window open to the bowl but that this is only open for a finite time before key players retire. How long is your window still open for? I refill these retiring players each year with 28+ year olds. Question 2. A related question: you have proven that you can very easily sweep into the play offs. But once there you've stumbled before the finish line. How much of that is due to a weak AFC (compared to a more competitive NFC) and what are you doing of improving your chances of winning in the play offs? I don't think so. My loss last year to the Gators was just by 2 points and he is a good team ... ALSO from the NFC- which won the bowl. The year before I made a bone headed move and changed up my playbook. We will win it eventually. Question 3. What do you think will be the deciding factor in this game? Rushing yards and Turnovers. Question 4. Give me a stat about your team that you think will matter this season? 1-Rushing yards. 2-3rd Down conversion percentage against other offenses. Question 5. What was your best buy on the Transfer Market ever? Not sure. My FB has been best in the world and 2nd best in the world so probably him. But my entire squad that starts are TM players. Question 6. What NFL team do you support in real life and why? The Atlanta Falcons since the day I was born. |

Statement game for the Basterds. A little less sure GM is favorite for bowl. Perhaps that is how he wants it.
