Does the player rating include strength, speed, agility, intelligence and teamwork?
The manual says that "(a) rating is calculated as an average value of the important skills on a per position basis, with experience added to better reflect their actual performance", furthermore it states that PC is also a factor. I'm not sure about the term skills here, my first thought was that it excludes those 5 things, but why should exp and pc be included and those other (possibly more important) things left out? |

Yes it does, PC is taken into account as well which is why in some rare cases a player can "lose" half a star of rating for a day or two.

Just my two cents but I never ever look at player ratings to make personnel decisions.

Me neither, but something I hadn't considered would be the effect of PC on a Youth Academy player's rating. Most pulls are nowhere near 100% PC.
