@Mucke - There's every chance you got your top guys simply because you drafted special teamers. If your roster only had those holes then great, otherwise...lets say GMs tend to target more important positions (bots obviously don't). I'm not knocking the picks - I have a really good K so didn't want to spend my 1st round pick on a guy like Benitez, even with his 50 STR and Strong Leg; and your 2nd round pick Jaber (KR) was in my top 30 rated (4*EXP/5*TAL should make an excellent WR or maybe RB if his STR gets high); 3rd rounder Ra will make an excellent CB if his SPD nears the max. Benitez wasn't in my top 62, Jaber as I said was top 30 and Ra top 50.
@Redbirds is still at the stage of having good draft positions and snapping up bargains, but didn't clear up like he usually does (IMO). Emenjian was a decent pickup but was just my 42nd overall player; I moved Bak down to begin with because I'm trying to avoid low INT&TW players, but with those twin traits I moved him up to top 15 for the 2nd round so IMO that was a good pick; Neff probably went right about where I had him ranked originally. Where you guys picked (16/17) my board would have had me taking:- 1. LB Hogue (5th ranked, went 21st) 2. OL Ruiz (18th, went 54th) 3. LB Mihejlic (29th, went 82nd; or if I didn't want another LB then Ra, the G) I landed my 9th, 21st and 67th rated players at 30, 62 and 94 and got this:- 1. Nerland (now Boyd), 21yo DL, 3*EXP/5*TAL, 49.2 STR and uncapped SPD, above average INT and TW 2. Keminas (now Roman), 21yo OL, 3*EXP/5*TAL, 50 STR, under 30 INT but 36.7 TW 3. Stumpf (now Snipes), 22yo RB, 2.5*EXP/4*TAL, 44.6 yellow STR, SPD capped, solid INT and TW Boyd could start now, Roman is a season or two away and Snipes may be transfer market fodder but for the third-last pick of the draft he isn't bad at all. Well I was really lazy with this draft class since I went inactive about halfway through the season and didn't organize the board a lot before I left, but took a chance with Bak because my SF's are getting old and I need to start getting younger there and my first pick I wanted either Myaska or Mork and both were gone, then for the third pick I just continued my little tradition of 1 offense, 2 defense because I didn't see a lot that I liked, wanted Contreras but he got grabbed like 3 picks before me, unfortunately. |
