So i have those two WRs
WR1 Plays 1406 Catch (#/TD/Dropped) 147/21 /46 Catch (yard/avg/lon) 1784/12.1/95 Tackles broken by 45 WR2 Plays 1349 Catch (#/TD/Dropped) 127/11 /29 Catch (yard/avg/lon) 1153/9.1/63 Tackles broken by 25 So WR1 has completed 76.1% of the passes thrown to him (147 of 193) and WR2 has 81.4%(127 of 156), but WR1 has more TD and yards because he was always first string. How do you guys compare those stats, witch WR has a better season? P.S. WR1 has much more skills and experience |

If WR1 has more skills and experience just play him and ignore the stats.
More skills and experience means a better player while on the other hand better stats can be explained my a multitude of factors, was the QB under pressure when he through? How good was the defender covering the WR? Down and distance, PC, Morale... Basically too many factors to be able to isolate the performance of any 2 given WR and come up to a definitive conclusion. |

Are you saying that the WR stats are useless and should be totally ignored ? Or the stats in general for all positions? |

Not useless but to be taken with a grain of salt, a big one
Attributes (Physicals and Skills, INT, EXP and TW) are much more important than stats is what I mean so if a player with better attributes has worst stats than a weaker player don't read too much into it, at any position. |

One thing you need to consider when comparing your WR stats is that your #1 wr is normally covered by your opponents best CB. Also take into account the defense only plays zone.

I would like to translate this "ignore stats"...
Stats are the result of skills, and opportunities in the game created by the opponents formation, tactics etc. So taking care about stats as the first priority is plain wrong. Make decisions based on skills of you compare two guys at the same position. You will be right with this. After this, check the stats to see how a certain skill might affect the stats. Maybe one WR has more complete catches, but less yards? Could be he is less good in breakin tackles, or in running the ball after the catch...and so on |

Well i was hoping that stats well help to decide who will play your very important match when the skills are closer or you need to chose one young player(might have some gaps between skills) like a backup but it seems that stats are very difficult to read and compare .... we'll use plan B then

WR1 might have more TDs because of the amount of tackles he broke, might have got you more 1st downs as well? There's also a good chance he was up against No.1 CBs, could be why his % is slightly down on WR2?
