So, I think is it time to be honest with you guys. Since a couple of weeks, my motivation for RZA dropped a lot. It is becoming more and more difficult for me to prepare the games and my IRL life is getting very busy for me to spare as much time as I need to be competitive in Elite League and Supercup. Including commuting, I am away from home 12h a day, I have training everyweeks and a bunch of tournaments a year and even if she is very comprehensive, my wife is still there and does not understand why I play a game with an excel file!
Also there are some totally legit practices that I do not like in the game. They impact the fun of it, big time. The fact that you can take advantage of the training system by piling many players in one position, the fact that you can even play games without any player at several position in your roster, the fact that you can win games by using sometimes 1 to 3 formations only or the fact that you can lose games on purpose without any major downside, that is just not normal to me. I was very hyped by the Karma system but Pete seems to have given up on it. Too bad. So sure I could apply those startegies to my team as well. But I am a dogmatic (and French so stubborn as hell) so I do not think I will do it any day soon. At the end, I decided to do not spend that much time in the game anymore. I have enough different PB to just run different onces every games but I will certainly only put a basic one on defense for some time. Maybe the rest of the season, maybe for ever, or maybe just for few game in case the motivation comes back. I am also considering to restart the game from the beginning as buiding a long term and successfull team is the best part of it for me. I kind of think I did it quite well with this team. I am sure I can do even beter with the next one! But this decision will come at the end of the season. With business trip, major tournaments, Xmas and NYE coming, I have no clue anyway how I can go through December and January by taking all the game seriously. The worse case scenario is I give up totally on RZA. In this case, I am actively seeking for some manager who would agree to manage the Datacenter and/or the Hall of Fame. If nobody shows up, I guess they will disappear. Let's see how it goes! |

Hey Cyril,
I understand your frustration on some things. I Believe the out of position penalty should be way harsher and the karma influence should be somewhat bigger, but not too much. I'm at the very different place as you are right now as I've only started spending even more time on RZA, but I know real life will catch up to me soon enough and then there will be no other choice but to tone it down a notch. I really hope you find the motivation to keep the red star goats afloat and find a way to fit it in your busy schedule, I'm sure you'll do fine with the knowledge you already have. If it comes to the point where you really quit I'll be more than happy to assist in everything, although I don't think there is anyone who can do it with the same amount of dedication. Hoping it wont come that far, my christmas wish for you will be a big raise and more free time  |

Nooo Cyril, you can't do this!!!
I feel the same way about the abuse of empty positions on rosters, unfortunately the coaching rules actively promote that. I disagree regarding Karma, as it feels like a heavy handed, unrealistic and overly simplistic approach. Give us a carrot, not a stick. If we are to be encouraged to use more formations then make the formations worth using - more realistic RB usage being the biggest issue, followed by a better array of plays to choose from. RBs should be more versatile if trained up in the relevant skills. I remember playing for my old Uni team, our RBs all had to lead block regularly, in all formations, as well as run pass routes, protect the QB, etc.... (I was one of them - helping secure the pocket after having lined up as a split back was my most frequent role, along with providing lead blocking on sweep plays from the pro-set!). Remember though, most NFL teams use a very limited number of formations... they just have more plays to call, and small tactical shifts incorporated into them. |

Cyril I would hate to see you go. You and Browka made the game more fun for me. Thank you for that. And I agree with most of the issues stated above. I wish there were more options for offensive formations. Still, a great game here. I would be available to take over HOF, data center or both. Take care my friend

As I said, not a swan song yet.
 I should stay around for some time, with this team or a new one. I would not quit until the end of the regular season anyway as I would hate to impact my division competition by turning bot in the middle of the season. And once you are in the Elite, you can not just quit or tank!
Anyway big thanks to your messages! You guys are awesome! 
And yes, I still have to defeat you Johnny, but the team I really need to run over is MSS! Being 0-5 against spartans is driving me crazy, especially with a 0-2 in playoffs.
@JonnyP: I know I am part of the minority about Karma. This is a very heated topic with very good points in the pros and cons team. But imo the problem is not that IRL the teams are using only a few formations, it is that in the game, doing it seems to give an advantage that should not be exploited by managers. Considering this, your RB proposition could be a progress. @Bro: You can do it! Just get relegated from 1.1 and then try to win your first 2.x one! 
Oh yeah, and I forgot to add MOTY in the list of things that pisses me off in the game. Dalton used it again yesterday (that's is rigth,the feature exists). I did not prepare the game so it would not have been a biggy in case of loss, but still, I'd love to see the feature gone. A team should never play better by just clicking one button... Of course, the game is still great! Pete did a hell of job here. Just after 10 seasons of enjoying it a lot, the needed dedication to be competitive is getting too big for me considering that each of those details take away a bit of fun from the game.

I will every day sell one or two players, mostly my ex-future stars as I will try to do a good SC before leaving. Do not miss them! |
