Interesting week. New GM. New DC and coaching staff. Seems GB startet its modification big.

Draft 2018 ... as much as an defense upgrade is needed, but what about a valuable backup QB? Since GB wont face a better draft position than 2018 for the next decade , wouldnt it make sense to go for a QB if he is there at pick 14? What are your thoughts? And who are the prospects that would come into question?

Back to NFL 2017: Next Sundays game Saints at Vikings could be fun to watch.

Heck yeah it could, go Not The Vikings!
I don't like the idea of a QB that high as a back-up. Rodgers thinks he can play well for at least another 6 years and I see no reason not to believe him. Obviously it worked out well to get Rodgers but the timing was better with Favre. No need to have a top QB on your bench for 6 years when you could get a solid pass rusher.

With all the other names gone before #14, Davenport could be there. Would like it. Any thoughts?

I like Davenport but it depends who else there is left to pick at 14, imagine if Chubb was there and they took Davenport instead, i wouldn't be happy with that. With 12 picks i wouldn't mind too much if they moved up a bit to get someone great, i'm hoping loads of QB's going means they won't have to though.

Chubb is one of the other names. Here is the full list (4 QBs, Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, Ward, James, FitzP, Edmunds, Vea, Smith)

Packers 3rd rd, overall #76, spot is worth 210 points.

#14 = 1.100

Spot #10 is worth 1.300

check

This will be fun to watch.

Wouldnt mind if Gute goes with McGlinchy or Miller at 14. Both will be gone before 2nd rd.

Bulaga is done. Spriggs an injury-prone.

Jesus Bring back Ted please!!!

Just joking

I think GB got the right player, Jaire Alexander, a slot CB, at the right spot, at #18, and adressed a need. Wait a moment! #18? Havent they had to pick at #14? And a shot on Tremaine Edmunds, Marcus Davenport or Derwin James? Yes but Brian "Ted is still on the button" Gutekunst decided to do a Thompson like charade to move back and forth and into the future by grabbing a 1st rd pick of the draft 2019.

Draft Grade: A

The only downside I see is that the Saints' 1st rd draft spot of 2019 won't become of high value since the Saints will end theire 2019 campaign at least in the Conference Finals. But even if GB and NO face in the SB next year they've got combined draft capital to move up to #13 of next years draft.

On the other hand, in New Orleans they play party, they think they fucked GB and could be right. They've got M.Davenport, an huge EDGE rush ... prospect.
Some might now looking forward to see Brees going down next season, but remember, they have a brilliant backup QB in Taysom Hill who will keep them up in the SB race if any. Aah, you don't you remember Taysom Hill? That high IQ QB that Ted grabbed as UDFA last year and let him go after 53 man roster cut? He was GB's best QB in last years pre-season, by far ahead of Brett Hundley.

For all those who think GB should have been better with Davenport ... maybe, but there are still some gem-prospects on that position, like: Sam Hubbard, Lorenzo Carter, Dorance Armstrong and Josh Sweat.

Let's head for the 2nd round and a couple of Trade Ups

Easy bet. I think he meant Conference Final.

trading back was definitly the right call for GB I think. guess they wanted Ward, but he was off the board anyway. they got a future 1st rounder for moving back a few spots! and the Saints payed 2 1st rounders for a very raw prospect - lots of potential there, but also lots of risk. they are betting on their scouting and evaluation to be superior to everyone elses, and stuff like that almost never works out. GB did what still makes the most sense: getting more shots at good talent by accumulating more picks and not overinvesting in your own evaluation of a single prospect
