Yeah, I'm assuming that it was RNG, but its tempting me to start throwing medium passes on 3rd down

They do aim for 1 yard PAST the marker a disturbingly high % of the time.
After 3 seasons of running a super heavy passing team back around S20 ... I went through and counted up the number of 2nd and 10 to go plays that were 11 yard outside interceptions. Ended up it was about 2/3rds of all Ints thrown for those seasons. And that was set to "pass" not "pass medium". Problem is the QB almost always would try for a yard past the marker, turning it into a medium throw by the engine's definition ... so running on 1st down IF you think you can at least get a yard or two, is a good way to avoid those - as long as you don't get TOO predictable about it. |

I almost never see that happen. My QB often throws a screen pass on 3rd down and hopes the WRs can make it over the marker. Maybe my QB is too short to see over the OL?
