Hi,
if got a question - Maybe I made a mistake and have to solve it.

My youth academy has 10 players at the moment. One turned 20 and system tells me that I need to bring him to the senior team. But I already did this 3 times and can´t do it anymore this season.

What happens if I don´t do it? Will he leave for free?

Or shall I sell him and at least get somethin in return?
Does an upgrade to a larger facility help?

Thanks for your help?

If possible you should wait with promotion to senior team until day before first season rollover day - or last training update.

However, if you do not have any further promotions left, as I understand you do not, then you could sell.

Not sure if it would work - or there's enough time to upgrade your YA to next level, which might provide you with more promotion spots.
(Been a while since I build YA)

Yes - if you upgrade your academy you will get to promote another spot.

Is he worth the expense of the build and the increased maintenance costs?

If he's not great then sell him.

And if you don't act at all (upgrade YA or sell him) then he will be gone at Rollover and maybe become sometimes a FA...

Thanks for the feedback.

I will upgrade the youth academy. Had it in mind for later, but I think he is quite good and would sell well but I like to keep him.

Thanks!

Hard to say what you would get for him (I don't follow the TM that much to be honest). But he is of course a nice player...

Just remember, as coachsimpson said, you don't have to promote him to the senior team until a few days before the season rollover, so you can pump some extra training points into him between now and then if you want to. Since he's the only 20 year old that you have in the YA, he can get quite good, or you can work on next year's class a bit too.

Murphy's Law ... too many nice things said about him, so he went and broke himself.

Couple semi-related YA mistakes to avoid.

- Don't bid on 16/17 year olds unless you're sure you'll have a spot open for them in the YA

- (If the "starter" teams are still as ugly as they used to be)
Don't build up your YA until late in the season (and then only if you need the promotion spots). If you don't have open YA spots, you can probable grab a bunch of cheap (under $25k, I wouldn't spend $165k on another player until the stadium is over 100k seats) 19 and 20 year olds that have better physicals/teamwork and similar skills to 25+ year olds on your roster.
