The world lost one of it's most visionary Physicists today with the passing of Professor Stephen Hawking.

He gave us a better understanding of the universe and our brief period in it.

Most appreciated: he was honest enough to acknowledge mistakes in his theories, and to get over such mistakes!

There are only a few people able to tell about science so the average people understand it, and get fascinated by it. He was one of these guys, in a row with Dieter B. Herrmann (hero of my youth, and the cause I am still doing in astronomy), Harald Lesch, Michio Kaku maybe, and of course Alex Gerst - who goes to space in a few weeks again! And yes, there are a few more...
