Week 17, the final regular season week as usual was a divisional week.

In the AC East the Jockstraps took the divisional title with a comfortable win against the Crushers. They opened up a 21 point lead in the 1st quarter with 3 TD passes of 76,50 and 78 yards. The 2nd quarter saw them hit a 4 yard TD pass before the Crushers opened their account with a 55 yard TD pass. The Jockstraps closed off the half scoring a FG. The 3rd quarter opened with the Jockstraps taking a 31 yard pick 6 then adding a FG mid way through the quarter and followed that with a 6 yard TD pass. In the 4th the Jockstraps hit a 8 yard and a 1 yard passing TDs before the Crushers managed to get into the end zone with a 1 yard TD run. The Jockstraps capped off the scoring with a 65 yard fumble return TD for the match to finish 69-14 and have a week off to prepare for the play offs.
The Whitings welcomed Wild Thangs probably knowing that their chance to retain the divisional title was out of reach and that they would have to settle for the Wild Card spot. In the game Wild Thangs defence gave their team a lift with a 35 yard pick 6 before the Whitings offence settled things down with a 25 yard TD pass and a 2 yard TD run in the next 10 minutes. Mid way through the 2nd Wild Thangs hit a FG to reduce the deficit to 4 only for the Whitings extending it to 11 with a 1 yard run and then Wild Thangs bringing it back to 4 with a 66 yard TD pass. Towards the end of the 3rd quarter the Whitings extended the lead to 11 again with a 7 yard TD pass. A FG by Wild Thangs with over 5 minutes to go gave them some hope which was wiped away when the Whitings scored a 3 yard TD pass in the dying seconds of the game to win 35-20.
The Machine completed the regular season unbeaten by beating the Knuckleheads quite convincingly after a stuttering 1st quarter where the only score was a Knuckleheads FG. The 2nd quarter saw the Machine get themselves out of neutral firstly with a score tying FG then a 8 yard TD run and a 11 yard TD pass to lead 17-3 at the half. With the Machine rumbling along they started to go through the gears. The 3rd quarter saw them get a 4 yard TD run, a 41 yard pick 6 and a 2 yard TD pass then into the 4th a 16 yard TD pass and a 54 yard pick 6 were finished off by 2 FGs as they cruised to a 58-3 win.
The Wolves hosted the Miners knowing they had to win to keep their slim play off hopes alive. They basically did all they could starting off with a 5 yard TD pass and a FG in the 1st quarter then extending their lead with a 48 yard pick 6 followed by a 16 yard TD pass in the 2nd. They then got their 4th TD late in the 3rd quarter on a 2 yard run. The Miners managed a FG early in the 4th to avoid the shut out then the Wolves capped off the scoring with a minute to go on a 16 yard TD pass for a 38-3 win.
The Alligators thankful for playing the Bot Ravens in the last regular season game cruised to a 132-3 win and the divisional title.
Even though Xu Da's heroics last week was for nought it probably gave the Alligators warning for next season and in facing the Hedgehogs in this seasons last game they wanted to put down a marker with them for next season. In the 1st quarter the only score was a Xu Da FG. The Hedgehogs announced their intension to make a game of it with a 3 yard TD run early in the 2nd to which Xu Da replied with a 4 yard TD run mid way through the quarter. An early FG for Xu Da in the 3rd increased the lead to 6 which was wiped out by a 28 yard fumble return TD for the Hedgehogs. Xu Da got over their error and retook the lead late in the 3rd with a 58 yard TD pass. In the 4th quarter, with tiring defences, Xu Da extended their lead with a 37 yard TD pass then the Hedgehogs hit back with a 76 yard TD pass only for Xu Da to finish off the game and the scoring with a 83 yard TD pass to win 34-21.
Cougars faced Balenghi wanting to celebrate the divisional title in style, but in the 1st half Balenghi wanted to play football scoring first with a FG. Cougars responded with a 13 yard TD pass and early in the 2nd extended their lead with a 4 yard TD pass. Balenghi responded with a 11 yard TD pass only for Cougars to score a 8 yard TD pass to lead 21-10 at the half. The 2nd half Cougars did enough to stay in control with a FG and a 8 yard TD pass in the 3rd allowing Balenghi a FG early in the 4th before they got a 47 yard pick 6 and finished the scoring with a FG to win 41-13.
The Cardinals visited Juggernaut in their all or nothing game. A slow starting game waiting nearly 10 minutes for any score, a FG for the Cardinals who followed it up with a 12 yard TD pass to lead 10-0. The 2nd quarter Juggernaut awoke hitting a 2 yard TD pass followed by a 14 yard TD pass, PAT missed, and capped off with a FG to lead 16-10 at the half. The Cardinals worried they were losing their play off place, had an early FG in the 3rd and on scoring a 1 yard TD run to lead 20-16 going into the 4th. A Juggernaut FG at the start of the 4th must have put the begeebers up the Cardinals as they hit a 4 yard TD pass, got a 20 yard pick 6, scored a FG and had a 3 yard TD run during the remainder of the 4th quarter to win 44-19 and confirm their play off berth.
Thunder Bolts celebrated their divisional title with a 115-0 win over the Bot DV.
Jinonice played host to Pamplona, another team knowing a win was needed to keep their slim play off hopes alive. Another slow starting game that had to wait nearly 12 minutes for the first score a 14 yard TD pass for Jinonice. The 1st half of the 2nd quarter saw the teams exchange FGs before Jinonice's defence broke open the game with a 19 yard pick 6 followed by a 26 yard pick 6. Undeterred Pamplona hit their 2nd FG in the dying seconds of the half. A 12 yard TD pass by Jinonice probably put the game out of reach for Pamplona was followed early in the 4th by Jinonice's 2nd FG. With Jinonice just going through the motions in the remainder of the final quarter Pamplona took the opportunity to reduce the deficit firstly with their 3rd FG and finally with a 3 yard TD pass, PAT missed, to round off the scoring 34-15 in Jinonice's favour.
The Bobble welcomed the Frogs down under for a celebration of the Bobble's divisional title. Maybe the Bobble and the Frogs players were out the night before having a drink because going into half time there was no score on the board. This was resolved early in the 3rd when the Bobble hit a 7 yard TD pass which was followed later in the quarter with a 3 yard TD pass. The Bobble now being in total control of the game scored their 3rd TD on a 5 yard pass late in the 4th and rounded off the scoring in the final minute with a FG to win 24-0.
The Whalers visited epics looking to confirm to themselves that their rebuild was still going in the right direction while epics wanted to get some respect out of a disappointing season. epics starting the scoring with a FG in the 1st quarter and another in the 2nd to lead 6-0 at the half. A 3rd FG early in the 3rd was followed quickly by a 64 yard TD pass and epics were 16-0 up. The Whalers needed to do something and they did late in the 3rd with a 15 yard TD pass then early in the 4th a 7 yard TD pass made it a 2 point game. The Whalers then took advantage of the momentum they had gained to take the lead with a 9 yard TD pass. epics got a FG with just over 2 minutes to go, but could do no more as the Whalers cam away 21-19 winners.
Deflators visited the Patriots with the divisional title won and not wanting to loose to another divisional rival. They opened the scoring early in the 1st quarter with a FG following it with a 13 yard TD pass late in the quarter and a 10 yard TD pass early in the 2nd. Mid way through the 2nd the Patriots had their only score of the game on a 4 yard TD pass and Deflators rounded off the half with a FG to lead 20-7. For much of the 2nd half it was kicking practice for Deflators kicker as he knocked up 3 more FGs before Deflators ended the scoring with a 18 yard fumble return TD to win 36-7.
Narann played host to the Mantis and promptly allowed them the lead 5 minutes into the game with a 17 yard TD pass. Narann responded early in the 2nd with a 27 fumble return TD and 10 minutes later scored again with a 21 yard TD pass. The 3rd quarter saw 2 Narann FGs followed by a 3rd one mid way through the 4th. The scoring ended when Narann got a 54 yard pick 6 in the final minute to win 30-7.
The Pirates faced the Llamas in their all or nothing game and started with an early FG in the 1st quarter followed by a 9 yard TD run. The Llamas got on the scoreboard with a FG at the start of the 2nd quarter and were all square by half time with a 1 yard TD run. Early in the 3rd the Pirates took control with a 41 yard pick 6 and extended that lead to 14 with a 1 yard TD run late in the 3rd. In the 4th the Pirates scored on a 2 yard TD pass and a FG before closing the game out with a 19 yard pick 6 to win the game 41-10 and the divisional title.
The Sultans confirmed their p[lay off spot with a 115-0 win over the Bot P.G.I.

In the play offs
Narann visit the Pirates with the winners likely to face the Bolts.
The Sultans visit the Bobble with the winners likely to face Deflators.
The Whitings visit the Alligators with the winners likely to face the Machine.
The Cardinals visit Cougars with the winners likely to face the Jockstraps.

It is also time to say goodbye to the Crushers and Balenghi to relegation. I am sure they will be back in Season 31 stronger and better.

epics, the Frogs and the Knuckleheads have now got to prepare for their relegation play off matches a week on Saturday. Good Luck guys.
