Wouldnt it be awesome if the browns dont get a QB with the 1st and 4th pick and go with Chubb and Ward to give the def a serious boost?

Sounds like a Brown's move, yeah

The QB discussion is awkward. There are 4 top QBs and 1 underrated in Lamar Jackson. If draft history tought us one thing, then that you have always been wrong with your QB evaluation. So, it doesnt matter which QB they pick at #1, they are wrong.

With that in mind and knowing that either NYG nor Jets are known for wise draft pick decisions, it would be the smartest move for the Browns to go with the best non-QB talent of the draft at #1. The best QB will fall at #4. Why? The first gets the pressure to prove he was worth (and fails), the second just doesnt care and the third wants to show everyone that he was the true #1.

For me I'd like to see as many QBs come off the board early in the first round to leave a better choice for the Lions. Maybe Bob Quinn will pull off a trade to move up if the player they really want is not too far away in the order. If not could be a trade down to get extra pick/s as we only have 6 picks this year.

Smokescreens, Browns take Sam D at pick 1.

It's similar to how everyone is being linked and visiting every possible pick. All the high teams wants to give the impression they are interested in a QB, because people pay more to pull the trigger for a QB in a trade.

If the Giants don't want a QB they want the Jets to think they are interested in their guys. that way the Jets have to consider a trade with them. The Browns want everyone to think they are interested in their guy. That way a team may decide to pull the trigger. What make a this draft more intriguing is the fact there are several potential Franchise QB's so everyone is second guessing and unsure of how it pans out.

Reason I THINK browns and Giants pick QB's? The Jets wpuld habe sounded them out for trades and clearly they were not interested in all that capital which they gave for pick 3. The only reason it makes sense not to trade is because you have identified your Franchise QB and stick with the pick.

yep, came to the same conclusion on the giants - but there are 2 things I'd factor against that: 1) David Gettleman has never traded back in a draft, so maybe its just that 2) after the organization cleaned house for - amongst other things - the mistreatment of Eli and his starting streak, maybe they just dont want to confront him with his likely successor just yet and add more talent to go all in with Eli. but I agree, they should and will draft a QB #2
