Read an interesting thought process regarding the Browns picks. Chubb could never have been selected as the 4th overall because in the space of 12 months Cleveland couldn't have afforded to pay Garrett Mayfield and Chubb the 100 million dollars plus each will be entitled too as Elite QB/Pass Rushers after their rookie contracts.

Ward may well become a good CB but hes never going to command anything like the money of the others.

why not trading down then ?

Well without seeing what offers were on the table thats impossible to comment on!

Just thought with the scouting they do on these kids and depth of work its a fair point to consider that teams when picking these top prospects also have an eye on the longer term cap costs as well. I would suggest all three are players you would be expecting to earn that mega deal though.

Gregg Williams prefered Ward over Chubb because of the need of a press corner. Wards ability to play this role wasnt the only reason.

Wiliams said he has a video showing Garret get to the QB within 2 steps or less 28 times on a pass rush before the ball comes out. Meaning that they dont cover long enough. With adding Ward they hope to buy Garret and Ogbah, whom williams believes is a rising star, get more chances to get to the QB.

I am interested to watch him play man press against Antonio Brown, AJ Green and some of the other WR1 he will face. I think this is the technique he will struggle the most with in the NFL.

I am interested in seeing these new Browns play. They added some good players in FA and the draft. I am mostly excited about their off with taylor, hyde, chubb,, johnson, njoku, gordon and landry

They also added some good pieces to their def with Ward and the guy from GB (cant remember his name right now). He will gof to FS so peppers can move to SS wich will suit him better I think.

Wonder how long it is before Mayfield starts? The biggest question though is one they have not had to answer for a decade, LT.
