Hi everyone,
in the process of the last and my personal first organisation of the HOF voting I have had some discussions with some of you. The feeling was that the HOF will at one day consist of almost every team we have here. The suggestion was made to replace this formula. I would like to discuss this openly before we start the new round of voting end of this season. My suggestion is to vote for (Team Awards) 1. Team of the Month (with eventual HOF entry if team is not part already) 2. Riser of the Month 3. New Team of the Month and eventually (Player Awards) 1. Exceptional Player Award 2. Best Offense Player 3. Best Defense Player 4. Best Special Team Player While details would have to be defined I would like to get your opinion at first. What do you think ? |

While I'm not opposed to this, it seems like that's a hell of a lot of work. I also doubt the response you'll have for these nominations. If you do organise it I'll vote for it without fault, but I doubt it'll be a succes.
On top of that, when it comes to the player awards and I don't mean this as an insult at all, a lot of managers barely know their own players, let alone those of other teams. And RZa already has this system kind of in place, it doesn't work the way it should, but I don't know if this will add to it. When it comes to the HOF, I'm more in favour of setting minimum requirements for hall of fame induction. Something like At least 1 title (1.1, COC, Elite or Supercup) And/or at least 100 games in SD1.1 + Elite And/or at least 3 seasons in Elite These don't need to be the criteria at all, but I think this assures only teams that have reached a certain level for a decent amount of time get into the HOF. It's possible you won't have the voting process anymore, but for as long as I've been voting I was pretty much 100% certain who would get inducted before voting was over. |

My proposal:
Nominate 1 team, Vote for 1 team. A team needs 80% of the vote to get in. That might slow it down a bit. |

Agree with most of what was said above. I like the idea of having a high % of votes required to gain entry as opposed to the highest vote-getter. We don't need a new HOFer every season. But I could see some fun in handing out other awards at the end of each season, like Rookie Team of the Year, and Most Improved Team of the Year, etc. Best Team will already be decided by the Bowl.

My slightly modified proposal: HOF vote: Eligible committee and voting members : same Committee nomination : 2 per manager, top 5 nomination goes to open voting round Added conditions : Nominee must have at least 1 title (1.1, COC, Elite or Supercup) Open voting : 1 per manager. Nominee gets into HOF only if top and more than 80% of casted votes. Seasonal Awards: - Best Newcomer to SD1.1 - (Over) Achiever of the Season - Forum Contributor of the Season |
