another "helpful" voice here! I also dont see the point in the suggestion: even in HR mode, we have all season to do our contracts and it doesnt take up more than half an hour total.
so if you wait to the very last weeks of the season to do your contracts, you are probably doing so because you see an advantage in that. if you then manage to miss the deadline, in the end its because you wanted to reap bigger HR benefits. why should there be a extra safety net to keep your players signed if there is already an option to turn off HR in tricky real life situations? it a bit like asking for a bailout after losing high risk gambles... |

Sure, plan better, do better, that sounds great.
But reality can hit you and whatever you did plan to do in a month, a week or tomorrow can turn upside down within a second. I don't see any reason why you should be treated the way the game does it right now if there could be a workaround. Imagine you DID plan to make negotiations next week and suddenly real live changes, because of an accident or whatever. Something unplanned. Now you don't have the time or nerve to handle RZA, but once the dust sets and you come back, you find your team cut in half, for no reason. Sure HR does have benefits and sure you can turn it off, but why not have that last net of security? Sure the price/wage should not be the same as if HR was turned off, but why not for 20% more? 30%? The thing is, denying such net does only help for rage quitting more easily. My thoughts. |

Let’s not forget there would be some possible cases an automatic contract negotiation, especially with a 20 or 30% malus, would hurt a team more than the players leaving at rollover.
The salary impact can be very big and cause bankruptcy in a few weeks for the managers causing moral loss and players (even some with secured contract) being cut before or after the manager come back. Now you are rigth. In certains irl conditions the manager may not be able to switch off HR. But I kind of think that irl is way more important than a game and at the end of day, you may have lost a couple of euros if you are a supporter, and still had fun during the period. |

I was thinking again and again about this issue.
I guess I made a decision. I won't add automatic contract negotiation. But I was thinking about making it fatser, more esier to handle. How about you can hit a button "negotiation wizard". It open a new window, only displaying those players with soon expiring contracts. It would tell you for each players the maximum possible number of seasons to negotiate a contract for, and the asking price of the player. You can enable/disable negotiation per player, and hit a button. Each player that was activated receives a new contract for the given maximum time, and the asking price. Pro: less time needed Con: - it still needs action by the manager - you cannot negotiate franchise contracts this way - you won't receive the bonus from running the HR since you negotiate at the level of the asking price I find this to be a quite fair offer. People who need this can save some good time, are still flexible enough to spare out single players of the half-automatic negotiation to make classic negotiation with those players, and it creates and advantage for players running the classic way of negotiation. Is tis helpful? |

I think this would be a good compromise situation. It allows players to make a choice. It offers help where/when the player may need it. It does not force everyone into it. It allows advantages for those still using the 'classic HR' but does not excessively penalise players who for whatever reason are unable to utilise HR at a particular time.
I started this thread due to my personal difficulties. Because I have money to burn I was able to rebuild my team after a 50% loss of players to still be competitive this season. People without full coffers would have been unable to do so. I believe this suggestion will enable such players to suffer less and will hopefully retain some of those same such players who might otherwise quit the game in frustration/disappointment. |

I don't really see this as an issue. If you are able to wait until the last Wednesday to negotiate before the rollover on Sunday you have low th of time. You have the choice tonrenigotiate earlier. I think there are much better way that Pete could spend his times.

The reason I left for so many seasons was precisely for this reason. My brother had passed away and this was the last thing on my mind. I went back on and lost half of my roster. I was upset losing all that progress and time I had put into the team that was a contender on a regular basis.,,,so I quit until recently. This simple option would have been so helpful at the time.
