Ha, good one. The wholes in GBs roster are too big to fill within one offseason, that you dont need to worry about Bear's winning division 2019 again.

On the other hand: GB is loaded with 6 picks until rd4 (2in rd1, another 2 in rd4) in the coming draft. One could think that is enough ammunition. True, but they also have to hit the target. Last cpl of years has shown the opposite.

If that is done and the new position coaches took over, all these new puzzle pieces must click together. Curious if that should work out in 2019.

Season 100 - Week 1 - GB

The optimist says: "So far, so good."
The pessimist adds ", but the run game.". And right so.

Green Bay shines with absolute absence of a running game. They accomplished more first downs by penalties than by the run. Total rushing yards in numbers: 47yrds out of 22 attempts (avg 2.1).

Pre-season wasnt any different. If GB cant figure out how to effectively open lanes for the runners, they are in trouble.

Having an improved defense, wont help to get away with another W next week agianst the Viks.

What's your take, cheeseheads, on that opener?

260 and 274 yards on offense

That means they are either very good on defense or their offense just sucks...

time will tell

oh yeah @mücke
I wish you no luck at all in the DP game tomorow

To be honest, if Trubisky would've been any more competent at almost any point during that game it's a Bears win. The GB offense was basically eradicated, apart from the 47 yard play and the TD right after.

The positives? The GB defense seems better than I can ever remember, though it wasn't really challenged considering they realised it will be a half-field read game pretty fast. 5 sack is a pretty good start nonetheless, and a win is a win. Rodgers didn't get hurt either.

Chicago's front seven are on the elite level. Rodgers was running for his life, all night. Offense will pick up for them in the future. Chicago's D is tough to beat, yet GB still scored the only TD. Certainly won't be a stellar season for the Pack, but they've still got some resources they haven't tapped yet.

Absolutely agree. First time since i dont know when, that watching Packer's defense is more fun than Packer's O.

The Smith's are the real deal definition of a "Flügelzange".
If opponent's Center doesn't answers the name J.Kelce, Kenny Clark's get's dbl-teamed.
Now move R.Gary inside, O-Lines have to dbl-dbl-team (just saying, as a professional couch-coach).
The DB room with Alexander, King, Savage and Amos recorded 5/7 Int out of 5 games so far. Huge!

The valuable depth at DL, OLB and DB not even mentioned.

ILB could be a bit better, but who wants to complain with that D performance so far.

To be fair, Packers have treated that position like it doesn't exist anymore
