I dont think anyone out there are gonna argue that it wasnt a DPI and a clear error on the refs. But the talk of a rematch is ridiculous. Can anyone tell me of just one game, where there hasnt been at least one questionable call? i cant think of one. Im not even gonna say i know the solution going forward. Maybe a blue challenge flag? to challenge refs call/non-call. Then the next question is: How many per game? Its a screw with no end.

Canadian Football League has had the pass interference review rule since 2014. The same as any other challenge you need a time out and a challenge available.
I like it. Doesnt seem to slow the game anymore than any other challenge. And for you Chiefs fans another CFL rule allows both teams to get at least 1 possession each in OT. A good article that covers both issues, link Last edited on 2019-01-22 13:16:38 by skeetz |

There are two rules on the books, allowing the Commish to either overturn the results of a game, reschedule the entire game, or reschedule at the spot of the incident.
In this case, the Saints got the ball first in OT and couldn't do anything with it, so it's a moot point. |

It may be a duck, but on the facebook page of the danish channel showing NFL games, there is a story of increasing number of people signing a petition to have rematch. Glad to hear this could be a local thing. Not saying im against it, but more reviews will slow down the game even more. |

I mean, there are 7 guys on the field, and one at the monitor. 2 of these guys would have to keep there eyes on that situation, at least two. Those two failed for whatever reason. The video ref had a fair chance to see this was not just kind of a mistake of a ball spotted wrong at 8 to go instead of 9 to go. It was a first down or not, inside the redzone, at the championship game. Of course the video ref should have the ability to force the ref on field to review the situation. If this takes another 2 minutes...let it be for the sake of fair rulecalling. Btw, the NFL will be glad to hear this could be a chance to sell 2 or 3 more TV ads... And, these situations happen not in every game and every minute. In my opinion, this was the worst call of all NFL games throughout season 2018/19, at least of the games I followed. |

my $.02
A couple of more reviews initiated by the video-ref on obviously wrong calls or non-calls wouldnt hurt the game, second that. But imagine that DPI play with the "video ref intervention" in place, and the intervention wouldnt come anyway. Better they should allow to challange every call/non-call. And (but maybe too "innovational"), add a 3rd, 4th and 5th opportunity to challange a call/non-call, with 3rd challange costs 1 point from score board if call stands, 4th challange costs 2 points and so on ... Anyway, this NFL season is what we observed in September'18 already: "it's is a refs league." |

My point is: Where does it stop? I hear commentators say, that you can call offensive holding on almost every play, and proberbly illegal touching aswell. There will always be boarderline situations (not that i think this particular play was close to any boarder), and people crying bloody murder.
Then again, i DO believe my beloved Eagles will win more games with such an implement and my hated -TBTOAT- less, so could be great. |

The CFL only allow 1 challenge per game which means in close games coaches need to keep it in their pocket just for these situations and not use it on a spot or pi in the first quarter.
Two wrongs dont make a right but this may have made this all not so bad Sometimes you see the refs screw up, then compensate by a cheap penalty the other way. They should have called pi on that interception in ot. |

Surprised by the Justin Houston signing, but like the move nonetheless.
