From year to year I am thinking it can't get worse. And it gets worse ...
Ignorance level super extra gold by the responsible persons.. Man, just move it again to the week after the Super bowl, and Hawaii was a good choice too for pictures delivering sun and fun... |

I did qatch the 1st half (almost) and was very disapointed by the performance. They should switch to touch-football and of cause on Hawaii. Aloha. |

Considering the Pro Bowl is actualy 1 whole week of preparation and drills, I am not quite sure it would be better after the SB. That would mean 1 to 2 more weeks (depending if you still play the SB 2 weeks after the conference championships) before the players can start their vacations. I am affraid players would skip it for this reason.
I personaly find the small organised contests quite fun. The game itself is unrelevant as there is no real stakes. The money is not big enough. But one option could be a prize money for charities of the players choice (75% for the winner, 25% for the loser). Most of those guys are committed to the community. That could give some extra heart. But that would also mean more injury risks. The equation is tough. The league is also trying to develop flag football. Maybe there is something to work with there. You can play the version with blockers to involve every position and organize a small tournament between 4 teams. You could still tear your ACL, but at least the trauma injury risks would be very limited. And what best than a flag football game to see weird trick plays with WR playing DB or a RB throwing the ball? Peaple loving football for the impacts would be disapointed, but the other loving it for the big plays would appreciate I guess. I'd also like to see during the week a kicking and punting contest. Not that it would be the top part of the event, but there would be more interest on it than for the dodgeball game. |
