I think a salary cap would make the game more competitive by forcing managers to spend their money wisely

I dont think so. The money you can earn per season is restricted already. The transfermarket does not create these huge extra income jumps anymore.

What I meant to say is that it would force managers to be wise in their spending of money on players. You might not be able to keep a team of entirely 4+ star players if there was a salary cap.

guys im a relative newbie couple of seasons in read through rookie advice, spoke to different managers about certain aspects of the game.im sitting relatively comfortably with big chunk of money even after 50 mill to mediacentre.im in a position now when can plod along boosting bank balance every year,or i could invest in players off the market with larger wages probably lose money whilst going for it with better players but when the window closes you canjust go back to average roster boosting bank balance.
also guys the fact alot of the same managers have success means they have found criteria that works for them to be successful consistantly so it can be done we just gotta figure it out too

Salary cap without other financial duties exists in Red Zone Clash, and it is fun to play over there as well! I believe everything else about the game is the same, although there are not many managers/teams (hint hint)

I can't help but feel this would do the opposite of making things more competitive, at least at the top.
Here's an example of what I mean:
Mr A wins more than Mr B, Mr A is better at game planning.
Mr B can currently plan for a financial "push" to give himself an edge, or window, to beat Mr A.
Remove the salary cap and Mr B does not have this option. Mr A Keeps winning. Mr A also then has more money from all the winning, he can't spend it on wages so he uses it to buy better players than Mr B on the transfer market.
Mr A is then better at game planning and has a better team than Mr B, Mr B has no chance of beating Mr A ever.

Seems to me this is exactly what we have now.

No. In theory there should be much more Mr. B's be able to "push". If the A's still better not their fault...

Pretty much I just don't think a salary cap would help, not with a transfer market in place to spend money on instead of salary, unless speed and strength played into the wage calculation?
