A shame we did and we do not create more fundings for science to extent the journey. 50 years after this amazing journey to the Moon, we have a few low orbit Space Stations, and a very limited fleet of vehicles to carry humans to Space. We could do better! |

For me it is amazing how many do believe they did NOT go there.
Sometimes it sounds they would put more money and effort in faking it then going there. Overall it was very expensive at that time and the hype did fade away, once it became a trip like going to the Bahamas. Last edited on 2019-07-21 14:17:15 by jack6 |

Yep, like the Nasa wrote somewhere else:
It would have been so expensive and challenging to keep all the involved mouths of such a faked Moon landing shut, to quiet 400k involved people: finally it was cheaper to go to the Moon. |

"Keene Butter, keene Sahne, aber aufm Mond ne Fahne."
East-German's sarcasm back in 1959 when soviets put their "hands" first on the moon while east-europe got drown in poverty. It took 30 more years to free themself from people-captivity, plan-business and dictatorship. Back in '61, jfk proclaimed "man on the moon by the end of the decade". 2 years later he got shot. Damn. Following governments found, it might be smarter to redirect space-science budget back into weapons and war. *sarcasm: On* Clever *sarcasm: Off* yea a shame, but.. "It's the way the water flows. Yeah that's the way the story goes" Gerry Cinnamon Anyway: Even with less money, NASA were able to accomplish some big space science. Voyager 1 and 2 still "call" home after 41 years in space, now in inter stellar space! Whenever you have time, watch video documentation of Voyager flying by Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, etc. there are dozens like this for examle: And think about the Hubble Telescope and its discoveries. Now, whenever you look through a drinking-straw into the black night sky, you'll "see" billions of Galaxies. ok, this is not a big use case here. |
