I would like to suggest making a retirement button for those players who are going to retire. At the end of the season allowing managers to send their players of for retirement verses having to fire them, where they will not be eligible for the hall of fame.

When the season is over it is time to plan for the next season and players that are retiring should be able to retire and be removed from the roster verses having to keep the position filled, the penalty for retiring him a little early could be the same ect., but after the finale league game, a button should appear saying retire now.

Is this a fire button without the contract penalty, or do I get it wrong?

I think it's still get the contract penalty but will the option to send them to the HoF without needing to keep them on the roster til the very end.

right the fire button is for the season. If you fire the player prior to the end of the season he should not be qualified for the hall of fame.

But after the finale game of the season, it is over, you should be able to retire the player, where he will be qualified for the hall of fame like Utah stated

for instance

Player Ki-Atenoa Uele announced his retirement and will not come back for any amount. He is going to retire. I drafted him in season 24 has won me 2 super bowls and is definitely a player you would want on your hall of fame.

He won his bowl game today and I can fire him paying him 410k which would save me the 550k I will have to pay him twice to be put him in the hall. and if my season had ended earlier I would of had to pay him even more. I have no choice this year and I am going to pay the extra money to put him in the hall

My suggestion for the future is making a button that will appear after the leagues finale season game to be able to retire the player instead of firing him in the sinerio above it will say retire the player for the 410k verses firing him, so that you can put him in the hall. You will still want the fire button as you will not want to put all your players into the hall of fame that retire, just the ones that deserve to be there

i think this is a fair suggestion. its hard to balance the economic needs of the team and the fluff reasons sometimes. i love the fluff but under these circumstances im not sure what i would do.

the players retiring for me are usually still starters in their final season so this doesnt happen for me, but it might be viable to reduce wage bill sometimes if this option were there.
