Just got a 4th down as well in this situation. I would be curious to know the percentage too, and to have a confirmation or not that SF are more involved in this situation than the usual.

Don't think Pete answered this tecnical questions, but I know that the pass is consider a normal pass,no medium no longer.
In the normal pass the offence try to close the down, this is the reason why the play gain the first down by one or two yards.
And no SF are involve becouse it isn't a medium or long pass.

Sorry but you are not right.

On passing, the QB always sees his most important task to get a new first down - but not by any means. After a usual sack on first down, the second down is 2nd and 18 yards to go. This is a medium pass, with all the things that are bound to medium passes, like more time needed to fire the pass, so more time for the OL to hold the block. On top, throwing accuracy goes down quite a bit, and the chances to break the completion or even ti intercept it, raise. The receiver has as well a much harder time to make the catch, and the chance of "almost cought" passes raises as well. This is what is happening in todays game engine.

This is an answer to one of your questions at the end of December. If a 2 and 18 is a medium pass, a 3 and 25 should be a long one.

I know but after many other matches I think that is true by half. If you write pass in your playbook it seems the engine calculate a pass as a pass, not medium or long. The intent of a pass is close the down and that is what happen.I've never seen a pass intercepted by a SF or a WR tackle by a SF in this play.
Only if you write medium or long pass on a playbook a SF is involve.

I shared my opinion. You obviously know it all already and are not open to it. Keep blaming the engine for your losses, that will help you a lot in the future.

I did a quick check on my teams data (offense and defense) from this season. Most things look very reasonable, but I had some outliers, which may be related to the amout of data.

Interception rate:
7-10 yards to go: ~2.5%
11+ yards: ~5%
medium or deep pass in playbook: above 20%

This may indicate the logic different on long downs and long passes called in the PB

First down rate:
7-10 yards to go: ~33%
11-15 yards: ~48%
16+ yards: ~32%

Has someone experied something similar?

I do not have an opinion about the topic.
So I am not against yours.
I have just posted some examples hoping to help.

I'm not blame the engine couse my losses. All the example I reported is from different game during this season.
I expose something that seems a bug of engine but I repeat if only me on entire comunity have this feeling I shut up.
