So I am certainly going to a wedding in Atlanta next May. The idea is to spend a few days there and then visiting another place in the US for a week.

With the big American community here I was thinking many of you would have suggestions.

We are open to drive up to 8h or to flight.

We already visited Georgia, Colorado, Florida and NY / DC / Baltimore.

We are more about outdoor activities (hiking, biking, diving, snorkeling) and wildlife than museums and partying.

So if some of you have recommendation I am all ears!

Cheers

Start in Duluth, Minnesota and head up the Gunflint Trail. Beautiful territory up there. I personally have not been on the Gunflint Trail, but Duluth is a beautiful area and going there solely to see Lake Superior is totally worth it.

I used to live in Atlanta, Northern GA has some really nice areas around the Blue Mountains if you hadn't checked them out yet. The eastern part of South Carolina has a bunch of resorts (snorkeling/diving etc but commercialized) and more golf courses than you could possibly imagine, but the western half is more rural. If you are looking for hiking and scenery you really can't do much worse than the western portion of North Carolina or eastern Tennessee. All should be well within your driving distance. Have fun!

It will be Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Salt Lake City at the end. Thanks again for the recommendations, I keep them for another time! And if anyone has some tips or "secret" things to do/see in the area, do not hesitate to shoot!

Yellowstone is beautiful you will absolutely love it. I haven’t been to either of the other places but I’ve heard they are great places as well. Enjoy your visit!

Left coast is the best...start in Seattle, end up in San Diego...can't be beat!

One day maybe. My company just set up an office in San Francisco. If it works, I would not be against moving there if I can bring some added value to the project.

Unfortunately my trip looks compromised now... it seems it is always easier to blame other countries for poor local early management...
