What are the main elements of the offense which contribute towards the running game? I feel my team has a good first string Running Back and a decent Offensive Line, and yet when I'm against human players I never seem to get much production.

Are there certain formations which it's better to run from than others or is there an element of my teams setup that I've missed?

Check the forum for "Leatherleague". We had some tournaments playing rush only. Might be you can get some ideas of what works and what not, from there.

You indeed seems to have a decent RB. However against teams like the one you faced on Tuesday, your OL does not weight much. You still have a young team. Give it a time and sooner than never you will improve the production.

without scouting your team I would say definitely OL is key but also playbook. If the opponent knows when you are running, they will shut it down every time. So check your PB for trends, ie- self-scout your PB.

Good question, I heavily invested in OL and have decent to very good runners but it's not adding up.

I feel scouting can help but is minor, in the end you need to make holes in the DL and that is what counts. Maybe not the right strategy as I seem to be proving now haha

From my live game now, THIS is what I want to see

9:30 3 and 1 to go on opp 25, Ellis Champion (OC) snaps the ball to Dámaso Martínez (QB), hands off to Andreas Frederik (FB/R), this seems to be a run over the left end, Andreas Frederik (FB/R) was not successfully tackled by Phillip Rousseau (DE/L), Dino Mccaskill (DE/R), there is no SS who could tackle him, Andreas Frederik (FB/R) tackled by Drew Gann (CB/R), forward progress: 19 yards, New first down (Shotgun 4 WR vs. 5-3-3)

Even against a run stopping formation. But here I am playing an opponent that is weaker then me. Still, proves my point a bit in that my opponent can scout all he wants but I am forcing my will upon him.

Maybe this proves that a big play sometime can happen even rushing out of SG4W vs 5-3-3...

Maybe, but I have seen many occasions when the 'perfect' defence fails to stop the offence called and not necessarily against a stronger team.

I have a small database of 217224 plays
all from S37 elite games
I found only 42 rushing plays SG4WR vs 5-3-3 (so too low to have a stat)
Anyway
1 for 13 yds
2 for 8 yds
1 for 7 yds
1 for 5 yds
11 for 1 yds
9 for 0 yds
7 for -1 yds
10 for -2 yds

12% more than 1 yds
If you need 1 yds to close the down 38% of probability to achieve a new 1st down

What do you mean with "fails to stop" ?
A big play or a new 1st down?
