Dumplings big match reviews of 22nd September:

Moustache Men 24:35 Destroyers - At the end of the first quarter with the Moustache Men leading 14:0 I thought that this was the moment that the Destroyers would taste their second defeat of the season...however I was wrong (as usual) as the Destroyers passing game and big play defence won out and keeps them well atop the NC West.

Juggernaut 48:30 Eskimos - Thanks Kevinisking for pointing this game out to me as a big match to look out for (I missed it). This one started slow and was 3:3 at the end of the first quarter but then bang 72 points scored in the next three quarters. For the Eskimos only 8 yards rushing left them with an unbalanced offence and a thumbs down in the coaches karma, add in 11 drops from the receivers and a defence that allowed an average of 6.6 yds per rush and it was always going to be tough to beat a very good Juggernaut team.

Big shout outs also to the following teams who all came out on top in their close games: Comanches, Wolverines, Llamas and Wild Thangs

BIG MATCHES next time around

NC South shootout:
Patriots (5-3) @ Narann (5-2)
Mantis (4-3) @ Attack Dogs (5-2)

AC Conference battle of the big guns:
Wolflings (8-0) @ Juggernaut (6-1)

Pete should do something. If there was ever a reason for me to quite RZA, it would be losing to any team that passes 70 times and rushes 1 time in a game....especially it causes me the playoffs or a chance at elite.

Dumplings big match reviews of 26th September:

Mantis 13:10 Attack Dogs - In the dog fight that is the NC South and where Kickers are key the Attack Dogs missed a 38yd FG in the 4th Qtr of a low scoring game and the Mantis held on to win.

Patriots 27:28 Narann - Another close game in the NC South and this win puts Narann top of the division. Will the Patriots be rueing their decision to punt on a 4th and 10 at the opponents 43 with only 2:43 left in the 4th Qtr?

Wolflings 24:30 Juggernaut - In a game where no team ever had more than a 7pt lead the 2 best teams of the AC Conference (IMO) put on a great show. The Juggernaut defence bolted the door shut in the 4th Qtr and kicked two 4th Qtr FGs to cement the win

And with that Wolflings loss there is only 1 team left unbeaten in Thunder 1..........

Also a sad goodbye to the Spitting Llamas who went bot - I for one won't miss their exclusive SG4 offence..........

BIG MATCHES next time around
The NC South is the most winningest division:
Narann (6-2) @ Mantis (5-3)
AC Conference playoff battle:
Wild Thangs (5-3) @ Eskimos (6-2)
AC South v NC South
Xu Da (7-1) @ Attack Dogs (5-3)

I got very very very lucky today. Attack Dogs had that missed FG, but that wasn't the only opportunity that the Attack Dogs could have had the opportunity to at least tie the game on. Also in the 4th, the Attack Dogs pinned me at the goal line, and I could not move the ball. Punted to the Attack Dogs and they also could not move the ball inside opponent territory, and went for it on 4th down. My defense stopped them (as I knew they would!!!). It would have been a 52 yard FG attempt, so the Attack Dogs were in that zone of indecision. The 38 yard missed FG was a chip shot that should have been made.

Great job Attack Dogs. Our last few games have been this close, and in the next game, I am sure I won't get as lucky as I did today!

Yes, I'm excited about my older but new kicker. His low TC is currently a issue, but he has made a 50 yarder, my first ever. Im hoping once his TC reaches 80 to 100 those chippies will be made.

I took over at your 35 early in the 4th after you had to punt from your own end zone. To pick up 0 yards on 4 plays is disheartening.

Hats off to you..the better team won once again, and as always that was you.

Exactly...missed by no one. I still can't figure out how that SG4 worked so well even after Pete put things in place to limit it.

What's going on? Doesn't any of my divisional opponents want to win the division.

Can't believe my QB today 24-23-358-4-0 Rating 158.33 these including a 90 and a 81 yard TD passes. Tpal70 what happened with your DB's?

Dumplings big match reviews of 29th September:

Narann 38:17 Mantis - 5 wins in a row now for Narann and they increase their lead at the top of the NC South. Mantis scored on their first drive but Narann hit back later in the first quarter, increased their lead in the second quarter and controlled the third and fourth quarter to seal the win. A fantastic performance by Narann QB Ferrer who completed 23 of 24 (96%!!!) for 358yds and 4TD.

Wild Thangs 49:16 Eskimos - Did the Wild Thangs forget to set their alarm as they scored 0 points in Q1 and 49 in the next 3 !!! I thought this would be a close game but a pass heavy offence for the Eskimos left them with a thumbs down coaching karma.

Xu Da 31:24 Attack Dogs - The Dogs started and finished strong but couldn't score either side of half time allowing Xu Da to run out winners. 209 yds total rushing for Xu Da with no back averaging less than 6yds per carry and only needing to punt once means that Xu Da now control the AC South.

So all the bye weeks are done and we have 7 games left of the regular season for teams to make the playoffs.

Who will make the final 6 for each conference? Please chip in with your own opinions........

In the AC it is a battle between the following 8 teams: Wolflings, Juggernaut, Xu Da, Deflators, Wild Thangs, Eskimos, Bolts and Moustache Men

In the NC it is a battle between the following 9 teams: Dumplings, Destroyers, Narann, Pinoys, Alligators, Attack Dogs, Patriots, Mantis, Wolverines

Plenty of BIG MATCHES for the upcoming game week:
Moustache Men (6-3) @ Wolflings (8-1)
Xu Da (8-1) @ Narann (7-2)
Deflators (7-2) @ Wild Thangs (6-3)
Alligators (8-1) @ Dumplings (9-0)
Mantis (5-4) @ Destroyers (8-1)

I can see already what the Bowl will be: Wolflings vs Norfolk Dumplings! Despite Wolfings losing it was to a v good team and away. Dumplings are head and shoulders above anything NC can offer in my opinion (incl me for sure as result of our game proves).

Outside favorites AC: Xu Da (it must happen at least once right?!?!)
Outside favorites NC: Alligators. My D has been on fire this season, can it be enough to carry me all the way?
