Well I must say I did not expect such a comprehensive win against KAFaokers. However, it is very welcome given that we have struggled financially and had to cut some players and facilities, as well as changing a few player positions. All of which has reduced our morale. We were also in danger of getting the 3rd consecutive financial warning with all the penalties and chaos that would have produced.
Still it looks like we have just turned the corner and we now have a positive (albeit small) bank balance. Hopefully we can be reasonably competitive this season and begin slowly rebuilding whilst keeping an eagle eye on our finances. I think I can safely say - The Aliens are on the way back! |

Aloha!
Looking forward to this season and more! Took me some time to shift around my roster, but I think I got my players where I need them to be. Had a fumble in the draft and didn't pick the right person in the 1st round. My draft board was not sorted right. But ended up with solid players, not elite, but better then what I have currently lol. Starting off 0-2, faced some strong team early on. Also forgot to set my starters in the depth chart so that wasn't pretty. Right now I am facing the dreadful Playbook creation. Hopefully i can put together some good tactics to jump start my team. All in all, glad to be here and good luck to everyone this season!!! |

Good luck to your team, too! ps. I am just a few weeks more experienced in RZA, but I'll dare to advise you - before playing with the playbook I'd steady the stadium (trying to plug in a pun here, but I just mean - the sooner you max its capacity the better). If what I was advised all the time was right, going into the red financially is one of the primary fumbles in RZA. |

Welcome, glad to have you aboard. This first season will be a struggle and probably the next 2-3 depending upon how things go. If you need any help feel free to ask.
I had a look at your squad and noticed you have dedicated players for G, KR. This is not necessary. You can play any of your team in those positions without any penalty. So it may be better to move them to the positions that you need filling. Secondly, I agree with jp - build the stadium as quickly as you can. Also do not get into debt. I did it even after a number of years of playing. So be careful! I would avoid the Transfer Market like the plague - or at least not bid too much on players. Att his stage you don't need them. Also I have my Stadium now at 24,200. Is there a recommended way about getting your stadium to max? Right now I have been adding seats to the endzones first then the sidelines so that i have seats available when we have home games. |

You'll find plenty of help in that respect (and in others). Specifically I'd start with Jack6's blog. Not only because he's the Monarchist, like all of us ( ) but because it covers several severals of aspects of the game, and got them all arranged in chapters. I tried to bring some of my friends to RZA. They're gaming fanatics, but... you know, sadly, American football in Poland is still far from popular.
In another sport manager I've been playing, the admin is planning to put the ad in the sports magazine related to that sport. I am not sure how successful that's gonna be. I am afraid that if the excellent rating on the websites related to gaming are not brining a lot of fans, it's not the solution for RZA. On the other hand, my feeling is Americans love games and statistics (based on the popularity of the number one sport, baseball). I think would be worth a try. I've no idea how expensive are such ads, mind you. Oh.. just another idea came to my mind. I am sure media related to football in the US are themselves constantly competing for fans with those baseball oriented. May be not the ads, but the _article_ would be interesting for them? It would hjave to be really well written. I mean - REALLY. Both language-wise (I remember very bad rating I got from my students with English their mother tongue, when I mixed "error" with "mistake"...), AND exciting to read (a screen from a match wouldn't hurt, to show that it's not only numbers we're dealing with here). With stress on realism (plenty of tactical options), helpfulness of active players, and also - that it's not a skill game. It's a statistical game, in my mind at least. Because to compare the success of 2 offensive tactics vs a given defensive tactics we have to count more on statistics, than on the known mathematical details. At least that's my feeling (haven't really gotten to the point when I'd be ready to destroy my results by adding my own options to the playbook ;-) ). I'd even add something along the line - "It's not the game for everyone. Are you ready for a REAL challenge, in the virtual realm?". Just an idea. Last edited on 2022-10-11 09:25:41 by jpnwrt |

ps. Pete, in case you read the above and like the idea, I'd be happy to translate to Polish such article and try to find out if any of the American football websites in Poland, in their struggle to find more fans in Poland, wouldn't be interested in posting such article on their website.
And btw, I'd add stress one more thing in such article. At least for Polish readers. That American football is really not that complicated to understand. Far less, than, say, baseball. Doesn't mean is easy to become a guru. But the basic rules are quiote simple. Because one of those friends of mine I mentioned primary reason not to give RZA a try was that he doesn't know the rules.
