Supercup Street Review: Pizti Beltzak vs. Fargo Knights

Ah bonjour, I am only a French tourist, yes, walking outside Zulo Beltza Stadium, and suddenly I see zis Supercup match with 136978 visitors making ze noise like a thousand scooters in Paris traffic. Experts, zey say close game for both, but on ze field, Pizti Beltzak made ze big impression against ze Fargo Knights. Ze gameday was sponsored by Duey, Cheatem and Howe - Attorneys above the law, which is, how you say, very American and very suspicious, oui.
Fargo Knights had ze first score play when Mario Armijo kicked a 35-yard field goal late in ze first quarter. Before zat, Pizti Beltzak had already marched beautifully with Julian Wing passing to Dean Buckley and Gino Luciano, but near ze goal line Lâmi Sharif fumbled, and Florencio Tripp recovered for Fargo. Mon dieu, it was like dropping a fresh baguette in ze street.
In ze second quarter, Pizti Beltzak found ze rhythm. Julian Wing kept moving ze chains with throws to Otmar Shafer, Bernardo Curtis, Gino Luciano, and finally Dean Buckley caught a 12-yard pass for a touchdown. Cláudio Brezinovský added ze PAT. Zen ze defense made ze delicious turnover: Virgil Esposito tried a screen to Harris Arreola, but Al Gasnier intercepted it and returned ze ball 15 yards. Soon after, Julian Wing ran it in from close range for another touchdown, and Brezinovský again made ze PAT. Voilà, ze crowd was jumping like zey discovered free cheese.
Ze Pizti defense was magnifique. Hajo Krüger, Mirza Mlinar, and Anatol Benzar kept arriving on Esposito like waiters who see you have not paid ze bill. Fargo’s passing attack had moments with Stuart MacBrayne, Trinidad Mooney, and Harris Arreola, but sacks and pressure kept breaking ze timing. Even when Fargo crossed midfield, Pizti Beltzak forced tough downs and made tackles in space.
After halftime, Pizti Beltzak continued to squeeze ze game. Lâmi Sharif ran hard, Otmar Shafer made steady catches, and Gino Luciano helped move ze ball. Brezinovský kicked field goals from 40 yards and 42 yards, calm like he was sipping espresso. Fargo had a chance with Mario Armijo from 54 yards, but ze kick missed, and ze home side kept control.
There were injuries too, oui, ze brutal part of ze sport. Otmar Shafer, Joshua Price, Hu Swee, Julian Wing, Gino Luciano, Al Gasnier, and Tarik Mazin all had moments on ze report for Pizti Beltzak, while Fargo had Adolfo Cota, Julian Whittington, and Irwin Dyer dealing with trouble. Some returned, some made ze crowd hold ze breath.
In ze fourth quarter, Fargo Knights finally put together a long, stubborn drive. Freddy Marshall, Rafael Hass, Sam Mixon, Stuart MacBrayne, and Trinidad Mooney helped move ze ball deep, but near ze goal line Pizti Beltzak stiffened like day-old bread. Mario Armijo finished with a 19-yard field goal. Pizti Beltzak zen protected ze ball, ran clock, and closed ze Supercup like a team with no panic in ze suitcase.
Final score: Fargo Knights 6 - Pizti Beltzak 20.
