Information is a little scattered, so I wanted to run by what I have done, and what I am doing by complete strangers.

I am focused on my stadium, and should have up to 50k in a day or two. I currently have $800k in reserve for the upcoming off season.

The only staff I have picked up is a level 20 scout.

I have taken my highest intel player, and made him a QB. The dummy QB is now a WR, who has yet to catch a ball. (He could not pass it either, his time is limited on my team.) All of the players are pretty much equally crappy, so I don't know how many position changes I will do from here. I don't expect any of my current players to be on my roster in 3-4 seasons.

I have been scouting all of the 18 year old players in the draft. I have identified a level 50 int player, and several high 40's int. I had been focused on the high talented players, but from reading on here, those stars don't mean a whole lot. I have not done much scouting of the older players. I downloaded the RZA Management Studio, but that does not seem to help with the draft. I thought I saw some notes that it would pull my scouting reports.

I've been training PC on my players, and I have finally gotten my first one up to 100%. I am now working on his speed.

I have built the mountain, and weight room, and I am building a pool now. Soon as the Pool is finished, I will activate it over the weight room. I should have done the pool first, as my PC was sooo bad.

I will hire coaches after my stadium is complete, or season 12, which ever happens first.

I think I am on the right path, but being that this is my first off season coming up, I thought I would seek some feedback.

I am really interested on thoughts about draft boards.

Hey. It looks like you're doing everything right so far! And you're arranging Friday friendlies as well which are an awesome source of income. Congrats on playoffs too! You'll get a nice bit of extra money from that but don't forget you can arrange friendlies in the off season on the Tuesdays and Saturdays which you don't have a game.

Your training and coach plan is spot on too. With your stadium at 50k it'll be finished in no time, you should have coaches half way through next season.

Re draft. As long as a player has at least 1.5* talent its not a big deal. Maybe when you get coaches and you decide to built a pass/run heavy team you might want to have a higher talent QB/RB. I like that you're looking at the younger plays as well. Fwiw I won't draft a player >21 unless I'm stuck with him in the third round lol. But for starting off I wouldn't be as strict on age because these guys will be instant starters.

Some positions go quite cheap on the TM as well, so while you won't have the funds yet, its often better to avoid those in the draft unless you can get an unbelievable player. Positions to avoid generally are: QB, RB, FB, WR (maybe someone else can jump in here as well).

If you have any other questions just ask.

Good start and better blueprint. Now is the time to save for the off season imo. I remember switching players a lot my first year. With a conference full of bot teams this did not hurt me at all. Either the csv download or the rza management studio could make position deciding easier. As well as attributes. For example... Players will be gone after a few seasons so dont get to high on low values such as 12 catching and assuming this is a wr. If you notice his speed is capping low but his strenght is capping high, maybe ol/ dl is better for him. I like all high intell players but starting out I remember using the csv file to sort the top half of intell players and sticking them on defense or at QB. The top ones went to lb or Qb. The faster players went to Cb/wr/ RB/TE to start. Very few remain on my team now ending my second season, so if you use the TM next season have a plan of who to get and be careful. Don't jump at cb's with 20 plus tackling but 15 int and 18 TW for example. It happens because i sold a few.

Thanks for the input.

I have taken a second look at my team in the Management Studio, and noticed a few players near the speed caps. I will take a look at the positions, and see if adjustments are needed from there. At the moment, I don't really see a difference between a skill of 6, and one of 14, with an average of 12. So, I am not really interested in the skill levels (right now) when I make my adjustments.

I also got Draft advice in my mail. I will take another look at my draft board, and see if I really want a QB for my first pick.

Looking for some advice again. I played a friendly against the 4th best team in my League, and lost 30-0. I have no doubts that his players are stronger, faster, and more skilled than mine. There was likely no way for me to win this game. I actually don't really care about the result.

What I am looking to see is HOW do I figure out where my tactics are to blame?

Right now, everything is still in the default mode. I have not adjusted my tactics, formations, or playbooks. I know this is bad, and against the bots of Admiral 3.3, they don't matter.

I am not asking someone to hold my hand, and do it for me. I would like for someone to take a look at my Friendly today, and point out some examples of what I need to look for.

Right now, I see the message that my DE broke through the line often, but then nothing happens after that. My guess is that the DE does not have the Speed to take advantage of the breakthough. So, when his PC is trained up, I will start training his speed.

Until my stadium is built, my training staff is non-existent, so I won't have the players to match up against the older managers for now.

Now for tomorrow, I am playing a friend I brought into the game. He choose to manage a team in my division, and a win can get him into the playoffs. I don't need the win, so I set my effort to relaxed. I suspect I still have the stronger team (he joined a week ago), but what can HE do to have a chance? He completed the manager tasks, so the depth chart and everything is done.

look to make sure your best players are used on each formation. No point in playing 335 if your 3rd SF is no use yet.

Also look at the yards given up for each formation match up and find out when/if the O changed formation at any point.

edit to correct some good England

I have made some minor adjustments to my players positions. My fastest player is now a Cornerback, the next one is a Defensive end. I am looking at making some of my stronger guys Offensive Linemen, and maybe give my offense a chance to score.

What is frustrating is that after 8 weeks of game time, my PC is still not to the point I can train other stuff. I have about 5 players that I switched training to Speed. Most of the time, any gains in PC is wiped out during a game.

I still have no idea of how to make my playbook.

Right now, my team is like a Pop Warner team. When I go up against a college or Pro Team, I lose by 80 points. I don't learn anything from such a game. I don't learn anything from blowing out a bot team by 100 points either.

I hoping to blow my play-off run, so I can spend another season in Admiral 3.3. I think I will lose interest in the game if I get promoted too soon, and go 0-16, with no chance to figure out what I am doing wrong.

Oh, and to throw this out there, when I wrote that last post, I just got done reviewing my team training.

I do understand that I have made a choice to build up my stadium, and not hire any coaches for now. This is going to cost me in the short term, and pay off for the long term.

I am trying to get two friends to join me in the division, and make things much more interesting. I don't want to be bashing bots all season, just as I don't want to be bashed all season.

Maybe we should be able to start with a stadium of 50k. I have added to my stadium at every chance, and I still am only at 40k. (I am a little short of cash to make it through the off season. These play off games, and a friendly will get me by)

This month of playing with little to no progress on my players skills is not "fun." I know I will have a blast once I get past this hurdle, but I wonder how many players don't make it past this early stage of the game.

I joined 8-3-13 not to long before you. In one month i had 22 new players. None of them great.... but upgrades none the less. I barley spent more than 10,000 on any of them. At least 5 of them still have a important role on my team. Yes i spent before my stadium was built...but i wanted to win now. Some choose this rout and this is fine as long as you can crunch numbers. It may be the path for you. Some choose to build slowly and do not mind loosing. Building your stadium first is not an RZA LAW !!! It is sound advice. I choose to build and spend but waited on a coaching staff till i was bringing in 8 mill a home game. Knowing i will most likely loose tommorow i will have to cut 8 players to make room for my ya grads and 3 draft picks... They are probally good short investments for new comers. If you want to upgrae now... the tm is the way. Your origional roster will take a wile to get better. On my first day i signed six players.

Good point. I do have the TM looking for a QB, but passed on what I have seen so far. I intend to stay in Admirals 3.3 for another season, that buys me some time before I need to invest in players.
