There are plenty of QBs out there. I read through your stuff, and I'd add:

If you don't want to be promoted, make sure you also opt out of the bot flush (its in settings).
At your stage, when you're picking up players on the TM, pay attention to salary - a good deal in transfer fee terms, might cost you a lot per week in wages that you don't necessarily want to spend.
Don't forget that everyone is looking for superstars on the TM that are about 20yo with great attributes. Older players can be had for a steal, and as your roster evolves over the next 2-3 seasons, they can be a really good bet. I picked up a few 26+ yo players when I started, and they did a great job for me.
Reading the game - shipping a lot of points in the second half could indicate a big difference in PC, look for pancakes by the OL (yours and the oppositions) to indicate how well your OL/DL is handling the opposition. Look at your Defense tackle stats to work out whether your line is being breached. Just remember that as you develop your Depth Chart and playbook, you really have to tailor your plays to the abilities of your players - often the tactical errors are down to deciding things like "I can slip in a Pass Medium / Pass Long here" when your players simply don't have the ability to execute with any consistency. Similar in Defense - when I started, I had a Supercup game against a team I knew was going to Pass with S4WR on almost every play - adopted Dime Defense, made no difference, I still got slaughtered, because my players weren't good enough.
Filtering out what's down to tactics and what's down to ability, or one-off errors, is half the game though - I hope that's something that appeals to you, if it does you'll love the game. Good luck!

I think I had the bot flush turned off by my second hour of being in the game.

I then turned it on, and since then turned it back off.

I have recently decided to try and win my remaining play off games. I think I have a chance today, and will play to win. I was originally going to play relaxed, so I would lose, and stay in Division 3. I still want to remain in division 3, but I want to see where my team stands right now. (the recent success of the Jacksonville Jaguars, my home team, has inspired me to play to win. The have the longest win streak in the AFC right now, my formerly 0-8 Jaguars!)

I think the main thing that is keeping me from learning is my lack of games against teams of equal strength (or the same crappy players). A friend of mine saw one of my Facebook pages, and joined me in my division, so now I can have a decent match against someone near my strength. I am still working on getting two other friends to fill out the remaining divisional teams, so we can have at real human competition going. There is not a lot I can learn from a match against a bot player, or someone that can destroy me with both hands tied behind their backs.

I will likely go the same route as you. Pick up some veteran players at first, to get me going. I will develop the youth as I go. The main thing I want to avoid is having a huge batch of players aging out at the same time.

The youth movement is alive and strong in GoalUnited as well, but building my team off vets, and develop my youths has worked very well for me.

hi,
imo, you should not hold back from being promoted. in admirals 2.2, for example, there are several bot teams. So you would be able to stay in that conf.
Also, the sooner you can face real competition to test and tweak playbook, the better.
Good luck!

I don't disagree with your opinion.

I have a friend my my current division, and I am trying to get two more friends to take over the remaining bot teams in Admirals 3.3 NC South. I think it will be a blast playing three people that I know, all in the same division. Next season, we will get promoted to 2.2 and likely not face each other as often. THAT is the biggest reason I wish to stay down, for another season.

Now, in my play off game, I lost 25-3. The only touchdown was a blown tackle during a punt. everything else were field goals.

My quarterback was useless, and my FB averaged like 1 yard. The glaring stat that jumps out at me is the missed blocks on the OL. 50 something missed blocks is the worst, and the best is 2 pancakes.

So it seems to me that along with a real RB, I should look at an upgrade to the OL to give my running game a chance.

In case there are other rookie managers following along, I figure I will u p d a t e my status.

I sort of messed up and forgot to change the QB from my second selection in the draft. Naturally, I ended up with him. My second pick was one of my top choices of a LB.

So far, my offense has not shown much improvement against live players. The OL is horrible, with no pancakes, and missing the majority of the blocks. My defense has looked better in the close games, often winning the game with the only touchdown.

My stadium is about to have both the east and west ends completed. (Just started on the west end). The north end is at 30k, and the south at 25k. I finally made top manager tonight, when I started the last construction project.

I choose to remain in Admirals 3.3 instead of taking a chance to get promoted with the bot flush. I figure even if I win the Superbowl, I should get some prime draft picks.

I have no yet tinkered with my playbook. Not much point if my OL can't block anything.

It won't be long before my stadium is maxed out. My first order of business is hiring coaches. After that, I will just train up my guys so I can see what works and doesn't. No sense in hiring players if I don't know what to look for.

Without the coaches, I have begun hitting speed caps on my players. Several are already training on Str, and coming close to the caps. Not sure how far I want to take agility training before I start working skills.

If I'm not mistaken...

If you win the 3.3 bowl you (your team) will be the last to draft. Doesn't matter if you go to 2.x or not. If you do go to 2.x your draft table will still be the one from 3.3, and you will still be the last team to pick.

Yes, but since Admirals 3.3 is almost all bots, he will do very well in the first 2 rounds anyway.

Like I said, wouldn't make a diference. It would be the same table if he did went to 2.x (and if he wins the Bowl I believe he has to move up, bot flush or not (not entirely sure about that tho, but I think so)), and bots or no bots he would still pick last, from the 3.3 draft table, not from the 2.x.

Once you cap strength and speed, I would pick a position for the player and then train primary to about 30 before looking at secondaries and agility.

Agility is a wage skill. Its useful but the primary skill is more useful.

Yes, but it sounded like you were trying to say that if he won the Bowl it would damage his opportunities in the draft. I was saying that since he is drafting against all bots, it wouldn't really affect him.

And he does have to promote if he wins, just FYI.
