After a missed field goal the opposing team started 5 yards away from where it should have.

No, based on the rules you start from the 20 if a FG was missed in the redzone, similar to a touchback

Oh, the other part is right, you take over on the spot on missed FGs, but not inside the redzone

Even outside the Red Zone I think the line of scrimmage is incorrect after a missed field goal.
In this situation after the miss the ball gets spotted on the opp 46, when it should be the opp 39. My 3rd down I gain 6 yds putting me on the 39yd line. A missed field goal attempt in yardage in effect is 17 yards from the line of scrimmage. 7 yards to the line and the 10 in the end zone. 56-17=39 11:52 3 and 9 to go on opp 45, Victorien Rolland (OC) snaps the ball to Ron Savoy (QB), Ron Savoy (QB) selected Nicholas Earle (WR/L) as target, Enver Bauer (MLB) seems to go for the blitz, Harun Sharif (FB/R) blocks, this outer screen left pass goes to the receiver, who catches the ball, Nicholas Earle (WR/L) tackled by Silvio Zweig (CB/R), forward progress: 6 yards (Shotgun 2 WR vs. 3-3-5) more 11:17 Lumír Turkalj (K) kicks the ball for the field goal, 56 yard field goal missed 11:17 1 and 10 to go on own 46, Oscar Plaschke (OC) snaps the ball to Thilo Grillparzar (QB), who hands off to Konrad Koeck (FB/R), this seems to be a run over the left tackle, there is no Defense Line after the block, Konrad Koeck (FB/R) tackled by Rudi Nesteli (MLB), forward progress: 5 yards (Shotgun 2 WR vs. 3-4-4) more Last edited on 2018-01-11 21:53:03 by skeetz |

So as most FG's are taken 7yds behind the line of scrimmage the opponents take over there if there is a missed FG. |
