Fire Season 19 preview:

How will live be in Fire 1.1 after the most active owner finally made it to the Elite level?
The most important question in determing the favorites for Fire 1.1 will be answered in the next 3 days. Where will the Flying Ducktales end up and which conference will get the relief and not get another strong team from the Elite level, eager to get back.

AC:
As of now, Kumberg is the clear cut favorite to get to Elite next season. However, if the Ducktales get into the AC it will be a nice all Austrian battle for the AC West. The Spiders from March and whoever comes out on top of the AC East (impossible to predict) will probably the teams that will chalenge the Austrian Team(s) most. In the AC North it will be interesting, if the rise from last to first of the Hydros is for real and they are able to take it to the next level, or if the Griffins can strike back.

NC:
Novosibirsk and the Fargo Knights are the preseason favorites for the NC. However Fargo still has the Ducktales sword of Damocles flying over his head. The NC North should remain in the Mutineers hand, but can they finally win their first postseason game? The NC East could once again be a battle between the French Kiss and my team.

New teams:
All relegated teams wee bot teams.Furthermore New City went bot and will be replaced via bot flush. If Alcatraz from Elite will remain in 1.1 or directly flushed by the bot flushed remains to be seen.
The on paper best new team is already quite old. The Bonaval Acorns return from 2.1 to 1.1 and with a full stadium and a 66.1 % rating they look like they belong. After one year in 2.2 the Jimena Jugones return to 1.1 also with a full stadium and a 63.3 % Rating. The other teams who made it are:

Paquetes Bahía Verde / full Stadiom 52.4 %
McNaughton Amazing / 39k Stadium 42%

Candidates for bot flush
Untouchables 16-0, 100k Stadium, 50.7 %
Dolphins Pisa, 15-1, Stadium in construction, 47%
Louisiana Lightning 15-1, 66.6 k Stadium, 41.7 %
Stealing Spazzers 15-1, 25.5 k Stadium, 49.6%

nice job, I like it!

to be honest, either way, it will be difficult to get back - but probably even tougher the season after, when two of the current teams come back down.
anyhow, sad to see that Mechanics, Lisbon Lions and Ravencitos went Bot. Fire needs these strong teams, more than other Leagues.

when I look at the AC, I would certainly add Ajalvir Destroyers and GLADIATORI ROMA to the list of very strong teams, which should not be underestimated, although they might have taken a season or two to build a new generation.
in the NC, I might add Flierich Farmers, who made it to the play-off already this season, but are somehow struggling to pose a real challange to the Novosibirsk Lions.

in a few days we ll know more, this off-season already lasts way too long for me
good luck to everyone and

I'll keep an eye on Fire 1.1 for sure. It'll be interesting to see where the Ducktales end up as it'll change the complexity of the conference.

Good luck guys

AC West it is! we will enjoy some good austrian games

and to start the season, I have the Gladiatori, let's see what comes out of this

edit:
1) my team will face every title candidate already during the regular season
2) might be that we will have an austrian duell on last game day for the division - let's see

not unexpected as we just got 1 highly ranked Elite Team back to the league but still:

Our league is now just ranked No.8 overall of all leagues according to Beckos (average of 12 best teams). While I agree, that Admirals, Dragons, Sea Devils & Galaxy are a tad tougher, being ranked behind Monarchs & Thunder hurts.

Lets take this as an insult guys and own your Supercup Group

Great preview hollyhh!

You're not wrong about the AC East - beckos says we have 10 wins in us (I doubt this) but would still end up finishing 3rd in the division.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to it no matter the outcome. Good luck everyone!

wow - drafting in 1.1 is a little bit different than before.

I was used to get my No.1 or 2 selection at 30+ in the Draft and to have 6-8 of my Top 10 players still on the board for round 2.

I did manage to get my No.3 player at 21 (kudos to Portsmouth and Tottenham, who got my Top 2 players), however I felt there were not many sure things in this draft and a couple of players could have ranked No.3 and the player I did s e l e c t is already 22 years old and there were several others, who will be more valuable, if their physicals are not yet red capped (which is a big if in round 1)

however, for the second round, just 3 players from my Top 20 are left, so the plan now needs to be to gamble on someone in round 2 and keep your fingers crossed that no caps are in sight for the physicals.

are you guys satisfied with your draft?

I'm actually very happy with the OL I got with the 32nd pick, I never thought he'd last this long... Hopefully I can get a decent player tonight, the 96th pick will most likely end up being sold right away as I'll be left with a really really terrible player and no choice
