my playbook today would also have kicked the FG what a rollercoaster ride my first season in Galaxy 1.1. After being destroyed by the University I was not even hoping being able to beat one of the very good teams  |

Week 5 preview:
Foxes (+36) @ Hunters: Both recent promotions are sitting at 0-4. On paper they are dead evenly matched - I think the Hunters win, but don't cover the spread. Cougars (+21) @ Muskets: The Cougars have been a very solid team so far, but I can't picture them slowing down the #1 passing attack in G1.1 enough. Muskets win dropping the Cougars to .500 and opening the door in the AC East. Titans (+37) @ Marauders: The series is currently tied 1-1 in meaningful games, with Marauders winning the more recent match. On paper this looks like a rout, but the Titans always seem to be underestimated by Beckos ... Dynamos (+31) @ Dawgs: The Dawgs have come out firing on all cylinders this season ... and this game looks no different. The Dynamos will be hard pressed to pass the ball against the league's #1 pass rush. If it weren't for some team chemistry issues on the Dawgs, I would say this spread is too low. Drinkers @ BW Lachen (+144): Guinness gets back on track with a bot thrashing here. K Thunder (+84) @ Bulls: Likewise, the Bulls get served a bot this week. Mermaids (+49) @ Sharks: The Sharks play better than their percentages indicate, but the Mermaid's dominant rushing attack will prove too much. OrangeCrush @ Detroit Gros Hamsters (+28): Coming off their upset W over the Drinkers, the Crush look to bring their balanced offensive attack and bend don't break D to another win. I think they get the win, but don't cover the spread being the away squad here. Ramdozers @ Spitfires (+44): If nothing else, simply the morale of Dozers will make this game a blowout. Orcs @ Knights (+51): Orcs face a somewhat unpredictable Knights team on the road - but the league's #1 rushing defense should make the Knights one dimensional enough to get the W. Pangolins (+23) @ Stallions: One of the more interesting games this week, the Pangolins have been steadily improving while the Stallions seem to have backslid a bit. My call, Stallions win here but in a closer game than Becko predicts. Craiova (+27) @ Bandits: After a season that saw the University drop from a 230+ rating to the 170s, I feel like this matchup is going to be closer than Becko predicts, despite the Bandits homefield advantage. Since coming down from Elite, the U has steadily climbed back to a 200 rating. Has potential to be one of the better games this week - will the league's most opportunistic secondary (Bandits) make enough plays to be the difference? Wildcats @ S Thunder (+17): Becko expects this to be one of the few close games this week, but on paper the Wildcats O Line should dominate here and I expect they will cover the spread, even on the road. Flames (+13) @ Demons: If this game was at home for the Flames, I'd be torn who to pick. With it being an away game, I agree with Becko in a close W for Fareham. |
