He's the 1st non-US player to be drafted. At the very worse, he makes the practice squad. That's where things get tricky. Any team can then sign them to their roster at that point. Given the circumstances, raw potential, storyline, he could be highly sought after. This is entertainment after all. I don't know how much this helps him with his on-field career, but he's not the only project that was drafted late. Rico Gathers, the Baylor power forward was drafted by the Cowboys. He hasn't played football since middle school.

Why should he not be eligable?
In the past there were some German practice squad members never making a Team.

There are ulterior motives here, friend. Ulterriorrr motivvvves.

Who couldn't use a 6'4" wideout with 4.43 speed? Nobody, that's who.

I think there is more to consider than his height and pro-day-speed.
It starts with learning pro-offense and audibles and ends with team chemistry and culture.

I'm not saying he can't do that, just saying that this might be tougher than he thinks it is.

That's not even close.
As far as I know he is the first european player to be drafted without a college career. That's it.
There were many many non us players drafted and also higher drafted than him since a long time.

That's what I meant to say. I have too much information in my head to keep track of right now.

Most players from college also have to learn the pro-offense. There are WR from college, who never run a full route tree. I think the practice in germany is not that bad.
It is a learning process for every rookie. The advantage for Boehringer could be, that he knows that he has to learn fast and train hard. Players from college often think they accomplished already something when they were drafted.

I think his chance is not bad. The Vikings have not a superior WR corp. If "MoBo" learns how to block he could have a huge value for the team, because they could need 9 players on the field to block for Peterson.

Guess that too. He is a 6.4 tall Cinderella. The NFL loves Storys like this. He will always the "insperational" WR ...

The NFL Reporters love him. He will suceed.

Even when he gets cut before he get to the final #53 another Team will pick MOBO

He has a higher value for the Vikings than other teams, because he identifies already with his team. He will be on fire to play for HIS team. Don't underestimate that.

I don't belive players, who say on draft day, that they always imagined to live in Buffalo and play for the Bills. Or living in Detroit.

Playing for your favorite team is pure motivation.

The idea of RZA sponsoring him came to me this morning. I have no idea if this is at all possible, but it would be a scoup for us. I would even throw in some money myself.

This would be the smallest endorsement in NFL history

I imagine the ESPN news ticker alert:
Adrian Peterson gets $12M deal with Nike... JJ Watt signs a new $15M contract with Kellogg's... Moritz Boehringer gets $200 from RedZoneAction.org...

Pete would probably have to reopen the 3rd league and maybe even create a 4th level if that happened
