Or is it better to switch him to CB, and strengthen my CB group first?

That depends on how good he is. Is he better than your top 2 CBs? Is he better than your 3rd or 4th? If he's better than your top 2 corners move him. If he's not, but better or similarly rated as your 3rd or 4th CBs, keep him at SF.
I play my best SF at SS and FS and my 2nd and 3rd back him up at FS. Last edited on 2017-03-14 03:40:09 by gnikeoj |

Because of the relatively few tackle opportunities SFs get in the game (due imho to most people passing short and to the flanks), it's quite hard to tell what makes a good SF. Get caught in 533 D against the pass enough and you suddenly realise the value of a good safety (or rather the cost of not having good one) |

OK, thanks gni and cheesehead.
BUt if i play him as both SS1 and FS1, How is the game engine going to prioritize his position, e.g. in a 4-3-4? |

He'll play SS because the engine fills SS first.

Here's another safety-related question, while we're here.
How much do teams (particularly in League 1 and Elite) run safety blitzes? I'm not asking for percentages or play calls, just general ideas, because I have pretty much given up on them - too many big plays given up if the blitz is picked up and there's no-one left to tackle the offensive player marauding through the wide open spaces left behind. I also picked up a 41 STR/50 SPD (both red capped) LB in the 2nd round today that I'm considering moving to safety because he has the Fearsome trait and I'm pretty well set at LB. Is it worth keeping him at LB, moving him to S, or just moving him to CB (INT 39.5)? |

Depends on the situation and formation.
On 3rd and long I run it against some formations. But I prefer my LBs blitzing! Last edited on 2017-03-16 10:41:12 by Loretta |
