Seasons off to a good start with only 2 retirements out of 15. Let's do this. 7 retirements for me and only 1 I can re-sign (very expensively at that). Some ducking and diving required. |

Got a reasonable OL to start the draft with, way better than last seasons cock up where I highlighted the wrong player. We'll see what is left on the table in the next two rounds.

5 retirements ...
We should be much stronger in S24 than S23 but after that might plateau for a couple of seasons before calling it a day again with this team. |

Nice (older) player in second round. 50 speed, 40.4 yellow strength and 41 teamwork so should come good in a few seasons time. A keeper or a nice cash cow in the transfer market.

Is it just me, or do the draft picks seems kind of blah now-a-days. Even when they turn out good (few caps), they aren't really any better than the guys coming out of the academy.
1st pick was a DL with 48.5 strength, which is pretty weak for my line, and I have way too many DLs already. But his speed is uncapped and he has both Sure Tackler and Brickwall. So I plan to give him a shot. 2nd pick was an OL with 48.4 and 42.3 Teamwork, and only 2 exp. I generally have 1-2 OLs coming out of my academy every year with more Strength, Teamwork, and experience than this guy. Uncapped speed but his INT is too low for TE. I already have a bunch of guys slotted for FB. Good player, just not as good as the 7 other OLs under the age of 25 that are already on my team. So he is getting TLed. 3rd pick I didn't even set up my board. Having pick #30 I figured it wouldn't matter much. Picked up a kicker with 41.2 Teamwork. Only 35.7 strength, but its uncapped. With 3.5 experience he was actually a bit of a surprise grab so late in the draft. I had other plans for my future kicker, but if this guy's strength caps high he might actually be better. I'll keep him for a bit. |

I am happy with my draft. 1st round DE that I'll tarin to play LB or CB 50spd 40str 2nd round pick up a RB that will become a starter in a few seasons 50spd 3 QB that uncapped with 36int. So he be cross trained to other position once he caps. On other note. I avoid OL because there only 2-3 that has skills that can be better than my YA. I always have other needs that need filled. One thing that bugs me. That the older player in the draft the 21 22 and 23yo Start at the same skill point set as the younger players. Which makes them much less trained. When you do the math. |

All my draftees went wyellowcaped at low or redcaped at not good enough, so i'm disapointet by this draft. i need to do a better draft next season.
Good luck for everyone this opening gameday, and merry christmas for those who celebrate it! i have 3 easy games in the leauge so the team can get used to the new coaches. As always the aim for the season is to make it to the PO and have fun. my 4th season here at Rza will start now and i hope to see you all on the field! |
