Why when I start my normal depth chart my team's overall ratings are always much higher than league or Super cup games?

Is it because the rating shows how well they've played not specifically how good they are? They might have had really good games? If this is the case it could also mean that things Pete is working on in friendlies currently favour something about your team? These are all total guesses!
