Since we're trying to find ways to get money out of the hands of rich teams I thought of an offseason university helping players gain intelligence.

In terms of real life this would be equivalent to a player spending a semester at university between 2 football seasons.

This would of course have to be limited, we don't want a team to be able to make all of its players 50 INT geniuses. Here are some early limitations I've thought of in order to make this strategic for managers and limiting enough to not make it an over-powerful tool.

- Limited to one player per team and per season
- The player has to be under 22/23 years old, maybe 25?
- Limited to once per player's career (you can't send the same player to university more than once)
- The INT boost happens at season rollover and is somewhat randomized (between 1 and 5 points, maybe?)
- This would have to cost a lost of money, $5M maybe?

This would give us more decisions to make in the offseason:
- Is is worth it for me to pay to boost the INT of one of my players?
- Which player's INT should I boost?

We had an offseason camp. I was killing this part of functionality, since it caused too much trouble for me to run it properly.

Why was it causing problems? And what kind of problems?

You send guys off the team, so they can join seminars and so on. But, while they are studying, how are they supposed to play? Now I would have to check for the offseason camp each time the game engine is running...and this is just one thing I did not get straight

My suggestion is a little different, players don't have to go anywhere in RZA because we have a season rollover that happens instantly (or almost).

In real life it would work this way:
- Season 1 ends in January
- Player attends school from January to June.
- Players are back for training camp in July and preseason games in August.
- Players are ready for season 2 with a degree and having missed no time on the field.

What I suggest in RZA is:
- The player is on the team at the end of season 1
- Before season rollover you s e l e c t the player going to school.
- During rollover money is taken from your account and INT is added to the player.
- The player comes back and is ready to play for season 2.

So we hit these studs by Morale, or Team Chemistry? Where is the downside for being away from the team, the training?

Technically they're not away from the team, they just don't take long vacation other players take so the downside is only the cost of the university.

For example:
Player A and B are on the same team for the last game of season 1
Player A goes on vacation in Ireland and drinks a lot of Guinness
Player B goes to University and gains INT.
Both player A and B are back in time for the following season but the team had to pay the cost of university for player B.

If there is no downside for the team and players in question, such I thing would never happen in RZA. Sorry!

Btw...I really dislike the idea to raise INT. It was for reason INT is fix.

The downside is the cost, why are you saying that there is no downside?

If it cost $5M to raise INT by between 1 to 5 points some managers will do it and some won't so it's just another decision with a cost, kind of like asking a retiring player to stay one more year, the only downside is the cost.
