Playing and winning is great fun, but playing and losing can also be interesting.

I've been in RZA for many seasons, almost since the beginning of everything, and I've seen a lot of teams that (almost) always won and when they have entered a negative spiral, abandon the game.
Some will say "this is a game and people do what they want", and it's true. But every time, in our society, there is less tolerance for failure, less tolerance to fight to reverse a negative situation.

Getting to the top, falling to hell, getting up and fighting to get back up is not only a good challenge in online games, but also a good lesson in life.

"I'm not sure about elsewhere, but in the US, children are brought up with the notion that its never ok to fail. In fact, many recreational league give trophies to every team, and don't even keep scores during games for fear of hurting the fragile egos of children. We are breeding a nation of quitters who aren't able to cope with defeat because they never learned how to when they were children.

There is plenty of physiological research showing the negative effects on the body(brain) caused by loss of momentum towards a goal. I just think it difficult for products of the Quitter Generation to deal with those impacts without having been given the opportunity to develop the psychological tools to deal with losing."
