@ Yashin & Rock
Or you could invest far more $ in CBs than receivers and join the score-with-CBs party |

If you have a quick QB, then this is another position to make a lot of tackles after interceptions.
My first ever QB had SPE 49.6 and high tackling, so he would take care of most turnovers himself. |

When I played youth football, the best player usually played QB and MLB/FS. Your comment reminds me of that.

Yeah, my QB seems to be more successful at tackling than my WRs.
I already score most of my point with my defense. That's why I am thinking about using my offense more defensively |

Converting a promising LB'er into a QB, is working so far. 8/8 on tackles this season.

Rock, your oldest QB's intelligence is probably on the low side for the position. I'd probably go all in on your 22yo now rather than later. I'd sell the old guy and keep the middle age one as a backup.

That is what I have been doing for the last two years. The old guy is a backup.
I don't have a huge issue with picks right now. Just trying to make it so they aren't all pick 6s. I wasn't really joking about giving my WRs tackling. Besides, intelligence is no where as important as speed for avoid sacks and throwing picks. One of the most unrealistic parts of this game, but if I want to stop throwing INTs, I just need to pick up a speed QB. There is a reason that guys like Marino and -G.O.A.T- never made anything of themselves in the NFL. Last edited on 2017-02-13 03:08:08 by Rock777 |

To be fair, Rock, Pete has changed things quite a bit with regards to "high speed equals zero sacks" between season 22 and 23. My star QB (SPE 50) was sacked only once in Elite season 22; by a LB that also had SPE 50. However, last season in Elite my QB was sacked 21 times, mostly by far slower LB. |

Rock is correct.
Way too much performance emphasize on QB speed. |

Pete did make changes for the better. But its still way too big a factor. Just look around at the most successful QBs. In my league guys with 50 speed are only throwing 3-5 picks. Guys with 40 speed are around 20 picks. Yes there are other factors, but for some reason this game seems to equate QB speed to getting rattled in the pocket, which I think is a design flaw. Some of the best QBs in the NFL are slow. Some of the fastest QBs in the NFL are horrible.
Speed should really only affect how well the QB scrambles, sneaks, or intercepts the interceptor. Last edited on 2017-02-14 00:57:15 by Rock777 |
