Cyril +1

But...if you want to be competitive in your 2.x league sooner...

If you buy players on the market, make sure their skills are in the 20s (30s tops), that way, you might not go bankrupt. Good luck. Tulane fan?

The global stretagy I recommand is as below:

1/built 144300 seats stadium
2/hire Head Coach (for the training bonus in YA)
3/build YA
4/hire AC
5/built facilities (weigth room and wind tunnel to start)
6/ hire new players

So the first season is kind of boring because you spend all your money in the stadium. But keep in mind that a full stadium is 4 to 5 millions income in SC and 6 to 8 in league. That means you will be able to hire great players once the stadium is completed. All the players you currently have will no longer be there in a couple of seasons. That is why it is not necessary to buy cheap ones at the beginning.

Now I know some manager want to be competitive in their league from season 1. But at the end their progression will be slower.

I just joined this season and am putting all my efforts on 1, but what I have read in these forums shouldn't buying a PR staff be in there somewhere?

But back to topic. If you have sparetime and you like maths you can open your HR at want.
Just keep an eye on the digits and you can save about 20% at the beginning of your career. Later with better players this will shrink.

Not having HR means you can release players for free, i released almost every player i started with as it's hard to sell rubbish! HR is definitely worth it but i would wait for your roster to look more like you want it.

grew up on Tulane. Went to the Superdome in the mid 70's to watch them play. Student tickets were only 1.50 and not many people at the games so you could sit anywhere.

thanks trying to build it slowly. I know I will have to replace players with better players as I go. I'm just trying to be consistent on everything at one time. I know it will go slower but in the end when I'm done with most of the building it will all be done at the same time. I know everyone says to build your stadium (slower than most) which I'm doing and really investigating players before any bids. I did hire some coaches and working on the training for all players. I'm playing as many away games at big stadiums each weeks to keep revenue high.

saving 20% on the player salaries I have now doesn't seem to be worth the effort of negotiating all of those contracts. THANKS FOR THE INPUT EVERYONE.

Yes and thanks. Player and coaches wages continue to run in the offseason? Some of this stuff is hard to find so I ask a lot of questions. thanks again.
