Right folks. Here we are. The second-last week of season 24!
We are turning our gaze at the Falcons. In second place in the AC West, a position they haven't found themselves in a lot in recent seasons. Right now it looks like eiskomitee of Flieger is taking a very long break and rumours has it that he has taking the playbook by accident in his luggage so the players are clueless as to what play to call. Falcons will win this one and hope for a Severnside Cardinals freakshow to upset the Deflators in week 17 to stand any chance of finishing on top. But it's a good opportunity to catch up with one of Thunder's all time great: wiesengrund. |

We met up with wiesengrund and had the below exchange. It's always good to sit down with greatness and this chat certainly was one of those experiences.
Question 1. This season must have been a hard one for you with several long-standing teams going BOT. On top of that you are second in your division and seem to have regressed slightly if looking at rzbeckos. What are your thoughts on this? Losing old teams always sucks, but it also opens up opportunities for new teams, I always look forward to that. My own regression is simply tied to me being a father since July and not having enough time anymore, but if I look back, my last few years in the 1.1 always looked very different from my years in the EL, so it's hard to project it. Question 2. How important is it to be in the Elite? Does it raise your game or is Elite not the pinnacle of RZA it's supposed to be? Oh, it very certainly still is the hardest competition to play in. It demands 16 good games, no off-days, no break. No other competition can claim that. I don't see it losing relevance any time soon. Question 3. Since Flieger is probably about to go bot we won't ask "What do you think will be the deciding factor in this game?". Instead we will ask you to predict the participants of the Bowl this year. In 1.1? I'm gonna go for the Austrian Derby, Basterds vs Falcons. |
